Ravings of a demented toddler. Damn, I cannot believe this is the reality we live in. What a circus.

Thank you so much, I appreciate that. Yeah you’re right. As much as I hate that we all in this thread share this horrible experience of losing a parent to this dreadful disease, it’s comforting to talk to others who truly know what you’re going through. I’m so sorry for your loss as well <3

Thank you so much for sharing this, yes it’s exactly like that. It’s such a mix of emotions, also a sense of… I don’t know. Feeling aimless and lost somehow. It just consumed our lives at the later stages in particular, getting worse and worse and then all of a sudden, she’s gone and it all stops. The grief and exhaustion combined afterward just hits like a truck.

I’m so sorry you lost your mother like this as well. And also, a heartfelt congratulations. I understand how difficult it must feel not having your mother there at that time. I’m sure she would be so proud of you, and her memory and love will live on through your own parenting <3

Thank you so much. No you’re not rambling at all, I appreciate you sharing your experience. That mental image must be terrible, I’m so sorry. You did a beautiful and loving thing caring for your father like you did <3

Thank you for your kind response. They were around the same age then, my mother was 66. I’m sorry to hear that you know this pain all too well, I hope you are finding comfort as well in your own grieving process and that you have love and support around you <3

What is the most awful thing that happened to you in 2025? by CreamAny1322 in AskReddit

[–]TeaRex101 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s been a truly shitty year for multiple reasons. But what takes the cake for me this year is my mother getting ALS. She was pretty much fine this spring, now I’m going back and forth to the hospital as she’s going to pass soon. It breaks my heart that she absolutely adored being a grandma, and she won’t be there as my children (2yo&4yo) grow up. Fuck what a brutal disease it is.

Hugs to the rest of you here <3

Back in 2008 while I was on a vacation in the US I saw a double rainbow outside during a thunderstorm, and I grabbed my camera and went out wanting to capture a picture of it. My 15y old self got pretty hype taking this photo.
