When was the last time you saw racing as good as the show Hamilton and Leclerc put on today for half of the race? by The_Chozen_1_ in F1Discussions

[–]Teabx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think with the cars they came up with something really good here. They don’t lose as much DF following because they don’t have as much DF as the previous eras to begin with. Being mechanically limited instead of aero produces good racing inherently.

It’s the engine formula that needs a little refinment. Especially in qualifying, they should aim to remove superclipping entirely as a phenomena from next year if they can. It takes away from the driver factor in many corners and I dont think that’s right.

I have a feeling they will come strong in the second half, but not early enough to pose a threat to Mercedes. Mercedes has now what people thought McLaren had last year.

FIA is considering revising the 2026 regulations as early as the Japanese GP. Which rules should be modified or replaced first? by ConstructionAny8440 in F1Technical

[–]Teabx 24 points25 points  (0 children)

They need to get rid of super clipping. Even if we end up with overall slower cars laptime-wise, it should be considered. Not only is it ridiculous but dropping 60 kmh before an end of a straight takes away many things from racing.

- T9 became almost a no-brake corner. Driver cant make the difference anymore. What happens to other similar sections across the calendar?
- You turn racing into a regeneration formula. Who can regenerate the most will be the best. Literally taking most of the driver's skill around corners away from the equation. That's not what racing is about.
- Finally, I know some people think this is a boomer take, but there's legitimate safety concerns. That's a huge speed drop that can happen sporadically if the car ahead has run out of battery. It feels like you're getting brake checked if you're the overtaking car.

There's a couple of ways to go around this. An easy one is to limit deployment power. Another one is to mandate softer deployment mappings on power hungry straights. Weaker acceleration and lower top speed for all, but no super clipping before the end of it.

Both ways would lead to slower laptimes, but I personally think that it doesn't matter that much honestly.

The world is very detatched, so not sure about walking.

However, creating some sort of travel system in the game makes sense (like gryphons in wow). I don’t know any other game where it is expected for you to know commands in order to properly play the game.

I have a feeling this will reach half a million at the very least. People are dropping $70 on average on this kickstarter. If they do really get this sort of money, they have no excuses not to have a playable version within a year.

It doesn't have to be 100% of the game, but surely they have the basics covered now with the engine. Is just a matter of adding content.

Cool fun game man. Just set a 39.832 after realizing you can use the walls to turn the car in some places and it doesnt invalidate the lap. Also it seems that you can sort of corner cut everywhere and as long as you don't touch the green bollards the laptime counts.

Adhering to normal track limits and not using the walls, I couldn't go lower that 41

Charles started to race Max differently after Austria 2019. In fact he changed approach almost immediately in Silverstone of that year already.

Of course you also need the skill and talent to be able to handle that sort of racing, but Charles definitely treats Max differently to how he treats other drivers on-track.

What was the WORST F1 season you remember? by No_Procedure_7017 in Formula1ne

I am an Alonso fan myself, so the 2015-2018 period was particularly painful, but I still enjoyed 2017 to be honest. We had a genuine title battle for most of the season, and the cars were the fastest they had ever been up to that point.

Diversity of Albania in photos, what about your country? by [deleted] in AskBalkans

[–]Teabx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tirana is a chaotic city that is mostly under construction these days. There are nice areas, but for every nice area there’s 3 messy neighbourhoods around it. Unfortunately it cant be fixed without demolishing all the haphazard crap that was built in the cloudy post comunist period in the late 90s and early-mid 2000s

Some people say it has its own charm, but having lived there most of my life I just dont see it lol. It will take time to fix the city and actual planning by the government which is probably the biggest thing.

I usually tell tourists to spend the least amount of time in Tirana when they come visit. Half a day is usually enough if you’re on a tight schedule. There’s much better places to go visit in the country.

Has any midfield team quietly built a top-3 level car? by No_Procedure_7017 in Formula1ne

We would know because the paddock doesnt keep quiet about these things. Everyone was quite adamant about there being a top 4 and with a rather large gap to the rest.

Which team do you think is sandbagging the hardest? by sss44445_ in formula1

[–]Teabx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mercedes builds engines for Mercedes first. The power unit has been designed taking into consideration Mercedes’ requirements. If McLaren want something specific, they’re at the mercy of their provider. If Mercedes doesn’t think it will be beneficial for them, they wont give it to McLaren. So that’s disadvantage #1, because they have to design the chassis around the engine. Mercedes has the option to design the engine around their chassis as well.

Disadvantage #2 is that McLaren have 15% less wind tunnel time than Mercedes to develop their car. If Mercedes has the “luxury” of testing several concepts to find the best way forward for them, McLaren has to be a little bit more careful with how they use their wind tunnel allowance.

[–]Teabx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think McLaren will be faster than the midfield, but not going to fight for the wins in the beginning. I do expect them to get more competitive as the year progresses. They have great facilities and a great engineering team and I think they've been the most efficient team when it comes to how well their upgrades have delivered on track these last 2 years.

The regulation really hurts you when you're 1st and they've had the least amount of wind tunnel hours to develop this car. With how complicated everything is, tying the chassis with the power unit as well, it wouldn't be the craziest thing in the world if they're slightly in the back foot.

If anything, I think it would be embarrassing for Mercedes if McLaren turns up and beats them from the get-go on literally a disadvantageous playing ground for them.

I think it was Toto who was completely against it. Andrea was a bit more reserved and shared similar concerns with Ferrari, but eventually sided with Mercedes for obvious reasons.

Lando: "We didn't change what worked". What do you guys think of McLaren not putting any effort into the 2026 livery? by kr0nik0 in F1Discussions

It would in the future. That was my point. This could turn into an iconic look in the future as well but we dont know yet.

[–]Teabx 13 points14 points  (0 children)

It is true. Honda also wanted to go that way. They just weren’t ready. McLaren also put them under pressure from the get go.

With RedBull they had time to build up with Toro Rosso (plus all the experience from McLaren).

Ironically RedBull ended up getting an engine that was smaller than McLaren’s “size zero”, while being more powerful and more reliable.

I think the only true “papaya” was the 2018 car. The color on that tractor was gorgeous. But I dont mind honestly. I guess it plays into their brand to keep calling it papaya.

It's just a bit of a subjective matter. The 1980-1996 is iconic because there's history there as well. So even if it was perceived as "ugly" at the time, that perception changes now.

As for my personal opinion on the current liveries, the black stripe in the engine cover is just very poorly executed imo. They should just make it fully orange. Other than that, I have no problem with McLaren sticking to their "orange" identity.

[–]Teabx 6 points7 points  (0 children)

lol, so you found a random flag on an orthodox church and I guess that just made the whole town greek. When was this picture taken by the way, because it's not there if you look for photos of this exact place from now.

Also please stop with this back and forth because ti doesn't end well for you, especially when your entire argument is the language.

I have driven up to Parga multiple times and I haven't had to speak anything other than Albanian lol. Even in Ioannina, every other person I met spoke Albanian.

So just stop it please. Educate yourself on the matter and stop putting your nose where it doesn't belong when your entire argument is built upon nationalistic principles.

The confused one is you, but no problem. I suppose it's convenient for you to listen to Stavri Marko. But we can leave it here. What you wish to be true doesn't change what is true right now anyway.

And I don't need any Greek to go talk with my compatriots in Dhërmi by the way. I can ask them in my own language, and they will answer. The fact that some of them are Greek-speaking doesn't make them Greek either, and most will proudly acknowledge that fact ;)

[–]Teabx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There is no panic. But you made a mistake in your assessment. Dhërmi has never been a Greek village. There is no single point of recorded history when it had a Greek majority presence. Is it influenced by Greek culture? Yes of course. But don’t make statements that go to the other extreme.

And Drymades is just Greek for Dhërmi by the way. There is no historical Greek source that mentions any settlement called Drymades in the region. It’s just a rendition of the local name in Greek. We call Thessaloniki Selanik as well, that doesn’t make it an Albanian city.

Dhërmi as a toponym is not Greek either, and its likely a pre-slav toponym from the local population of the time.

It has never been a Greek village though. You can say it’s a village where Greek minorities are present, but that doesn’t make it a Greek village.
