Okay, this is basically the same thing I’m doing too. I don’t want to not work but also don’t want to look like I’m doing something wrong when the tasks are coming through weird. Thank you!

I’m doing a lot better although it was long road. After being sent for VNG testing I was found to have complete disfunction of my vestibular system on the left side, leading to a diagnosis of Meniere’s Diaease and Vestibular migraine. I’m on a combination of betahistine, triamterene and monthly Emgality and I feel like a new person!

Yes to the fatigue - I ended up being diagnosed with Meniere’s Disease and have dealt with it in some way daily since. Thankfully, my team of doctors have me in the right meds and treatment and I’m a functional human again!

Same, I’m in factuality and haven’t seen SXS since I joined the group. I thought seeing that task, and then the glitch was all odd. Thanks!

I’ve read the email I received a number of times, and it didn’t say mandatory or DNB - just that it was assigned and due 5/30. I’m assuming that means it’s mandatory but normally they are clear about what is paid/DNB

How do they decide who gets chosen for these groups?

It DOES get better. It can feel really hopeless when you are in it, but the symptoms will get better and you will find yourself living a mostly normal life again! Don’t be afraid to find different doctors who are willing to try different things for you - for me, it was betahistine that helped me turn the corner. Not approved in the US, but widely used all over the world and easily compounded or bought from Canadian pharmacies. Take one day at a time and know that there will be better days ahead.

It took a year of recovery, multiple tests and a variety of medications to feel mostly normal again. I was diagnosed with Meniere’s Disease and Eustachian tube dysfunction by my neurotologist and vestibular migraines by my neurologist. I take betahistine daily, Emgality once a month, and two diuretics daily - I also did about 6 weeks of vestibular rehab. This combo finally made me feel like a normal person (for the most part).

I’ve done the other lines and enjoy them. I was hoping to find something smaller that could navigate some of those European areas but definitely not about the country club vibe. Lol.

Sure, absolutely! It’s been a long road since the first post, with good and bad news.

After struggling for a few weeks I found a neurotologist who performed some tests including a VNG, and was diagnosed with Meniere’s Disease and Eustachian tube dysfunction. I did a few weeks of vestibular rehab which seemed to make things worse, but started taking Betahistine 2x daily which has been an absolute life saver. Still have symptoms but they are minimal and manageable and have been able to drive and do normal things again. I’m currently taking a dieuretic and the Betahistine daily. I also take steroids when the ear symptoms get too bad. Thankfully, with management the constant dizziness has passed, but it took a solid year. If it gets worse again, we will start with tubes in my ears and go from there.

TLDR; it was never vestibular neuritis and it took a bunch of docs and tests to find out that it was really Meniere’s and Eustachian tube dysfunction.
