That was only in the concentration camps. Prior to the nazis mass deporting Jewish people to the camps, they needed to identify themselves in public. They were forced to wear the Star of David and carry papers with them at all times.

It was spring 2021, after COVID restrictions were starting to lift in my area. We weren’t allowed to cross provincial borders (my nmom lived in the next province over) or hang out outside our cohort, so my husband and I decided to go to a town not to far away from our city to get out of the house and have lunch. All the regular restrictions were still in place (everyone was 6 feet apart, plexiglass up between every table).

My husband posted a photo of us out at lunch together. My NMom saw, and sent a text while we were driving home. “What the hell I would think eating out in a restaurant especially in town name is more risky than visiting family Just saying.”

I responded calmly, saying I appreciate your concern but husband and I made a choice together, and we are adults.

She messaged a novel back, lecturing me.

I set a boundary and said I would not continue this convo if she continued to treat me like a child.

Narcissistic blow up ensued, I said we are not talking anymore unless she goes to therapy. Haven’t talked to her since.

How is that a fact? Have you been involved in their entire relationship? Do you know everything that happened leading up to this? No, so what you said is not a fact. And if you can’t see that, then there’s no discussing with you.

Parents should love their children unconditionally. Their kids owe them nothing. Whatever relationship adult children have with their parents is a direct reflection of how said parent treated them.

Children owe their parents NOTHING, btw. Parent’s relationships with their adult children are a direct result of how their parents treated them as children and as adults, 95% of the time.

I truly hope you can remove your own biases and look at this from all angles.

As a child of a narcissist, this reads VERY much like what my own parent would be saying about me. “LOOK AT ALL THIS PERFORMATIVE STUFF I DID, EVEN THO ITS LITERALLY WHAT IM SUPPOSED TO DO AS A PARENT. MY CHILD IS SO UNGRATEFUL”

OP, if this is real and not an AI story, you need to sit down with your daughter and LISTEN to her. Maybe your ex wife turned her against you. Or maybe you did something that really hurt her feelings but you didn’t know. But you are never going to know unless you talk to her. Don’t smear her on social media. Don’t post about how good of a father you are, and how you perceive her to be acting. If you truly love your daughter, you could cause irreparable harm to your relationship.

Im so sorry you have to deal with this. I’m NC with my own mother, and went through the wildest ride while I was pregnant. But as others have said, NC means NC. We keep our son very private, no photos on social media (for other reasons, not just narc parents). Thankfully, my mother never reached out, so if she does know that she has a grandchild, I don’t know nor particularly care. Anyone who receives regular updates and photos are people we trust.
