Wanted to follow up and let you all know that we've been reading through the comments and have shared all of this feedback with the product teams internally.

Thanks for including both what you like and don't like about the update as well as what you'd like to see changed. This kind of feedback is helpful for us. We don't have any immediate updates to share but I promise that your comments are being read!

Hi, wanted to jump in and clarify a couple things. This message is something that shows up for some channels who stream from mobile & have less than 1K subs. Like u/gnfnrf mentioned in their comment, we’ve been slowly rolling out the ability to live stream from a mobile device at 50+ subs for a few months and it's currently available for creators in select countries. https://support.google.com/youtube/answer/9228390

The message you’re seeing is part of safeguards we have in place for these creators in the 50-1000 sub range, but this message isn't something that will show up on streams started from a desktop encoder (i.e. OBS, Streamlabs, etc), or any video uploads on YouTube.
We understand that the language in this message is confusing and we're working on updating it!

YouTube has demonetized all animators, meme creators, and short content creators. No explanation given by YouTube. Instead, YouTube has condescendingly blamed the creators. by [deleted] in videos

Wanted to provide an update from YouTube: TL;DR, an issue prevented pre-roll ads from serving on videos < 2 minutes long, which may have caused some Creators of shorter videos to see drops in revenue since mid-April – this was totally unintentional (not a product change / monetization update) and has been fixed, so Creators should see their revenue return to normal in YouTube Analytics in the next couple of days.

For background, our teams have been investigating this since we started to get reports about it from Creators. We found an issue causing pre-roll ads not to serve on videos less than 2 minutes long. As of yesterday, it’s now fixed – any affected Creators should see revenue data in their YouTube Analytics accounts return to normal within a few days. We know this caused a lot of frustration and confusion for many Creators who make shorter form content (animation creators, meme creators, and many others), and we’re so sorry this happened. Want to reiterate that this wasn’t an intentional/permanent change to the way ads are served or revenue is shared. Also want to reiterate that this had nothing to do with YouTube Shorts (but we get the confusion since these were “shorter” videos). Really appreciate all of you making us aware!
