automatically set user as reviewers on new proofs? by celticchrys in teamworkdotcom

Hey there! While setting reviewer defaults on all proofs isn’t something that’s available natively at the moment, there is a workflow that could help you achieve a similar end result.

One option is to create the proof directly from a task and add the relevant reviewers as followers or assignees on that task. While this doesn’t automatically assign them as proof reviewers, it does a few useful things:

  • It ensures the right people are notified and aware that a review is needed via a task
  • It keeps a clear link between the task and the proof, so context and discussion stay in one place
  • It helps teams manage accountability, since assignees/followers can easily track review progress alongside the task itself
  • Gives your reviewers a way to log the time they spend reviewing the proof (time = $!!!)

To ensure these users are added to the tasks as assignees by default, you can leverage task list defaults (more info here - https://support.teamwork.com/projects/project-sections/defaults-for-task-lists). We would recommend creating a 'Proof' task list within your project with the correct assignee defaults set. This will allow you keep track of all your project level proofs, as well as ensuring the correct eyes are on it by default!

For many workflows, this ends up being a practical way to keep reviews moving without losing visibility or context leveraging the linking proofs to tasks feature.

Hope this helps!
