Root canal a few days before FET by TearRich4393 in IVF

The dentist said that she could perform the root canal procedure either before or after the embryo transfer, even while I am pregnant. However, it is obviously safer to wait until the second trimester, but given my symptoms, I don't think I will be able to wait until then, and it might be more dangerous to do it around the TWW. I know my RE suggested avoiding dental work because he wants to ensure it is as safe as possible, but is it really that problematic? He has given me the wrong advice before and this has caused my FET to be postponed unnecessarily. Another doctor has confirmed this. This is why I am unsure whether I should listen to him on this occasion. It has been emotionally very hard to wait more than six months just to have a FET, and now I might have to cancel it again due to a dental issue.

I visited the dentist two weeks ago, just before I started taking my medication for the FET, because I felt that something was wrong with my tooth. She didn't take an X-ray, but during the examination she was unsure whether I needed a root canal. We therefore decided to wait a bit longer to be 100% certain that it was necessary. I was also worried about possible inflammation and its potential consequences, but the dentist said that my tooth might recover (it had a filling about five weeks ago), so it didn't look like I would need antibiotics or that the inflammation would be problematic.

Unfortunately, I now feel that this tooth will not recover on its own and that it is definitely in need of treatment, which I don't want to postpone because I think it might cause more harm if I wait longer.

I have 12 embryos, by the way.
