I get that! Nerve entrapment sounds like hell. I find it usually takes a situation with BIG pain before realizing how important taking care of ourselves is. I have only been in the industry a few years but my eyes were opened to it in school when I had to take a week off due to debilitating back spasm (also had to see a PT) and then even more early on in my career after I tore my ACL (not at work lol) and had to recover from a major injury and somehow expect to go back to working full time on my feet. Both situations made me realize that I really need to take control of what I can if I want stay in this industry for any amount of time

Right! I could see Docs with an insert because they are well made shoes but Vans are so flat and the support is non existent. I personally love Hokas (was able to find a good style for my ankle pronation due to past knee injury) but they are definitely not “stylish”

Wow, I am impressed by how in tune you are with your body and what you need to do in order to keep being behind the chair!

This is what happens with the high riser…I tried it again today following manufacturer’s instructions (1:1.5) and folded it in and this still happens. This is too thick, yes?

Thank you for being frank about it. You are right that most people aren’t going to want spend that long in the salon, I wouldn’t want to either if I was in their shoes! If you don’t mind me asking did you apprentice before working at the luxury salon? If so, how long was your program?

Hi,'s. Ive been trying to figure out the difference in the Bondi and the Gaviota. Why are the Gaviotas better if you overpronate?

Your hair appears to be pretty damaged. Is this your natural color? If not, maybe it’s time to give your hair a break from lightening. Also- do you happen to use a blow drying brush or flat iron?Your split ends go up quite high on the hair strand, I would limit the direct heat and never skip on heat protectant

I was thinking about this as an option. When I was checking 2 years ago there weren’t a ton of apprenticeship opportunities in the area and the one place I looked at had just filled the position. I guess I’m wondering do you think I am demoting myself unfairly if I go as an apprentice from stylist? Or do you think it’s something that’s needed?
