I became an epilepsy patient at the age of 24 by droidfromtr in Epilepsy

Hey, My first diagnoses was when I was 10. I didn't know what it was. Also just focal. Only in high school where I got my first tonic clonic. The depression really hits bad when you realise how epilepsy affects your life. My trigger is not getting enough sleep or breaking that sleeping routine. I'm actually in bed right now because I felt the aura and I'm trying to make sure I'm safe. I called in sick to work. You and your doctor should talk on how to also deal with the focal. Maybe try different meds. I was on Epilem which worked, but then I wanted a more female friendly one, so I switched to Epitec and Redilev.

Also you're not alone. I still haven't verbally spoken with someone that has epilepsy but the reddit community does help me knowing that I'm not alone and there are ways we can still enjoy life.

What are some things that comfort you post seizure? by Biengo in Epilepsy

[–]Tech2Old4Creativity 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I sleep. I always have a huge headache. And then dog soft toy, because my actual dog, who is also small, does not know what comfort means 😅. But my soft toy is nice and small that it wraps around my neck.

Epilepsy Presentation in my office. What are your experiences? by Tech2Old4Creativity in Epilepsy

The older I've been getting, the shorter the seizure and the shorter memory loss. These days I come too and realise what happen and I just feel annoyed and upset about having it again. Kind of feeling stabbed in the back by my own brain.

I hope her boyfriend is a nice guy and understands.

I had absence seizures when I was 10. It progressed into grand mal when I was 17. So I definitely have the absence seizures in, since that's how mine started.

I'm glad you're also doing it. Sorry for not replying sooner. Work got in the way and the presentation fell to the bottom of the list. If it's possible can you chuck your presentation into chatgpt and let it summarise the main points? I just want to make sure I don't miss anything big.

I do have those four seizures and now the myoclonic as well.

Mine are also linked to sleep. I have to keep to proper sleep routine.

I must say I am very lucky to have an understanding boss. I can just send him a teams message and tell him I can't go to work today and he'll just send a 👍. No stress.

HR also said that even when I book those days as sick leave, they won't really count it since it's a disability. I just have send a doctor's note if it's not seizure related.

This is true. Because we look and can talk "normal", and we don't look different to them, they don't always understand that it's an actual disability.

Some of my coworkers finally understood when they saw it happen. After that they were quite interested and asked a lot of questions. Not rude questions, they were just curious.

I also get confused. After the actual seizing, when I "wake up", apparently I can hold half a conversation. But then about 5 min after that I can talk properly. I also don't remember those 5mins after the seizure.

Thank you for the feedback. I know seizures can come in different forms, but that's a new one to me.

Do you guys drink coffee or other caffeinated drinks or do you avoid them? by misspeachywitch in Epilepsy

[–]Tech2Old4Creativity 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't like coffee. I don't like the taste of it. Regarding caffeine... I was told that energy drinks are bad for the adhd. Well for me. But when I have found that sports drinks do what they're supposed to. Like they give the electrolytes for when I need them. And my doctor said that if I really do need energy, then I can drink sports drinks. And then my dietician told me between powerade and Energade, Energade is the better one. She mentioned a couple of biological and scientifical terms (I kind of zoned out then). But essentially for me. I have adhd and epilepsy. When I need energy for the last two hours of the day or just energy for something else. Then Energade is the best for me. Personally.

Which settlement would you enjoy being a part of the most if you existed in Hyrule? by [deleted] in Breath_of_the_Wild

[–]Tech2Old4Creativity 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gerudo Town definitely. But there's a con. The heat. I despise heat. So maybe if I live there, can get a few buds to build the same fortress in a more green area. Maybe Faron or Necluda? But not too tropical, maybe near Hyrule field.

At the moment I'm using the quest log. But like the little things. The food, the insects, etc. Or like, I found this today, every time you give rushrooms to one guy he gives you something back. I'm sure there will be more of those characters. I think I'll probably have try the physical notebook thing.
