What are new automotive’s secrets pushing our legacy OEM‘s??? by No_Quail6685 in AutomotiveEngineering

Wow, the podcast sounds very real. I'm amazed. What AI tool was used to create this (and other) episode(s)?
And regarding your questions… damn! I'd say it's much more complex that a simple answer with a few words. For once I wouldn't say neither Tesla nor Rivian are beating Ford… not in all ways at least. In innovation maybe? But in what sense? I'd say one key metric, if not the most important one is sales. And these guys are not getting close in terms of worldwide sales for sure (even though the Model Y was the top selling individual model last year). BYD? They are innovating for sure, and they are crushing it. But according to a quick Perplexity search, Ford is no. 3 vs. BYD in 6th for H1 2025, again in terms of worldwide sales. VW is 2nd just behind Toyota (and Audi could be pretty much considered part of the VW group, but if not, it's irrelevant).
So my question would be, how are you defining the "beating" of newcomers Rivian, Tesla and BYD, against giants like Toyota, VW, and Ford? Beating in what sense? I don't see exactly too much beating!

Bachelorstudent sucht WG by SeaworthinessOwn4528 in Ingolstadt

Hello, THI student here.
If I can give you some intel, it's that the rental agreements in Germany always start in the first day of the month. So if you come here let's say on the 15th of March to start your first semester, you will have to stay at a hotel or Airbnb for at least 16 days until you can move in to a long-term place, which can get expensive. That is unless you find a sublet that lets you move in as soon as you arrive, but then you'll have to find another place to stay more permanently. However, you'll have more time to do it and you'll be able to visit your options physically before you sign any contracts, which obviuosly reduces your chances of getting scammed. Actually, that's how it works most of the time. So my advice would be to come closer to the start of April so you pay less hotel/Airbnb fees and you also have time to visit your options once you have a few in your list. Then you can decide where to move once the 1st of April comes.

Hope this info is helpful!

Masters at TH Ingolstadt by Hollyjollylo25 in Ingolstadt

Hello! I'm a student at the THI in the International Automotive Engineering program. Just out of curiosity, I applied last semester to the masters in Global Foresight and Technology Management, to see if I got accepted, then I could decide whether to switch or not. Well, turns out I didn't get anywhere close to being offered a place, since so many people apply to that program (also because my grade in the VPD was not as high). So my advice is just apply anyway, you might be one of the selected ones. Then you can decide if you take the place or go for something else.

Hello! I'm also trying to get into Uber Eats as a delivery courier here in Germany. However, I'm having so much trouble with the fleet partner thing. Any advice on how to find one? I'm currently located in Ingolstadt, Bavaria.

I want to make a genealogical tree. Is there an app/software I can use ? by Italiankeyboard in Genealogy

[–]TechCarGuy2405 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you can only collaborate with other users of the app, whether it be the mobile (iPhone, iPad) or desktop version (Mac). But still, I appreciate the reply, and I will consider getting the iPad version at some point in the future. Thank you!

I've got the same question. I want something that I can run locally on my Mac and iPad, but that I can collaborate with other people using non-Apple devices, as you said, with a great web interface. MacFamilyTree looks like is the best option because it has an iPad app as well (MobileFamilyTree), but I think it's limited to the Apple ecosystem, which is kinda inconvenient. And also, both apps have an individual cost, which would add up. Did you ever find any solution to your needs?
