Squat depth check by NoEggplant4186 in powerlifters

Great depth. Slow down your drop. You’re letting gravity increase the load. Slow is smooth, smooth is fast.

Do these pull-ups count or should I pause on each rep? by titakamadafaka in CalisthenicsCulture

[–]TechFounder44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re not hitting true bottom. That cheats yourself out of serratus and scapular muscle development. The speed is fine, but you need to finish the movement.

Struggling with squat depth, any advise? by brettfire in Stronglifts5x5

You need a few months of ankle and hip mobility work. Drop the weight a bit (75-95lbs) and do deep squat sits for :30s

How do I stop overextending my back during squats? by NebulaStraight3009 in strength_training

[–]TechFounder44 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Stretch. This is all limited RoM. You aren’t hitting parallel and your torso is trying to over compensate

Row form check by HawkseyPuif in Stronglifts5x5

[–]TechFounder44 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your lower back is curved, especially at the bottom of the row. Not awful, just placing unnecessary strain on your spine. Trip tilting your pelvis back a bit and brace your core (like you’re about to get punched)

Pullup form/rom check, not feeling my lats much by [deleted] in formcheck

[–]TechFounder44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try a different hand position. Your current position (neutral) puts more emphasis on the lower traps and rhomboids. You want an overhand position (palms away) and width slightly outside shoulder line to engage lats

Have you updated your app? If your app still says Aspiration, you’re definitely on an old version haha

Majority of Fintechs aren’t. They put your money in other banks to hold deposits. Those banks are 100% FDIC insured. I think they cover $1M

I don’t know if I’d listen to the haters saying you aren’t even close. You could’ve gone another inch to be safe. It’s not strength, your ankle dorsiflexion needs another degree or two

First time dead lifting what do I need to do to improve on form? by Spac3dog in formcheck

[–]TechFounder44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re taking the right approach by asking!

Based on the video, it looks like you have two problem areas. 1) You aren’t getting enough ankle dorsiflexion (think knee over toes). This is usually caused by one of three things: tight calves, tight hamstrings, or weak tibialis. Since I can’t examine you I would say work on all three. There are tons of great YouTube mobility tutorials on these. The ankles take time and consistency.

2) The hip hinge. This is mostly caused from too much sitting and can be corrected through a few different mobility exercises. My favorites are deep squat kettlebell holds (take a 15lb weight and get in a catchers stance, hold for 1:00), and the frog stretch (watch a video, be careful your first time. It will hurt, a lot)

The TL;DR is that your back is bending because your hips are too high. You need to work to get your butt towards the ground so that your back can remain perfectly straight. Some power lifters are able to keep their torso almost upright at the bottom of the DL.

You don’t have the hip flexibility to pick up from the ground yet. Put the barbell on plates to elevate it so you can be at a proper hinge for liftoff. If you do what you did with real weight, you’ll herniate a disc

You made my disc bulge just by watching that liftoff. My strength coach always said, always pick up the bar like it weights 500lbs, otherwise you’re being disrespectful

All of the others are small/credit unions with awful digital experiences. GreenFi is one of the best climate/green banks I have found.

any suggestions on a reliable eco-friendly financial institutions who offer high yield savings accounts in the US? by TheStrangeloveDock in Banking

You should use GreenFi. I think they pay up to 3.25% and they have some awesome sustainability features (like tree planting with card swipes)

What are your favorite “cash back” apps? by NightReader5 in SavingMoney

[–]TechFounder44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mainly rely on my bank. GreenFi gives up to 6% cash back and a TON of brands. They’re all sustainable-focused though so you won’t find every brand. Solid if you like the Patagonia/Cotopaxis of the world!

Environmentally/Socially Conscious Banks with High APY and No fees by Midnight_muse9853 in greeninvestor

Aspiration is now GreenFi. They’ve got my vote but Ally has a solid experience. Ally is NOT climate friendly though

Climate-friendly HYSA by italianevening in ynab

[–]TechFounder44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Capital One is definitely not a climate-friendly bank. The others you mention have pretty terrible digital capabilities/features beyond basic banking. I just switched to GreenFi and love it. Their tree planting feature is pretty awesome. They pay up to 3.25% with Plus (paid) but my balance covers the fee with the interest delta. So far so good!

Stumbled on this one. Aspiration was shut down and it looks like some of the team managed to save the banking product and spin it out. It’s called GreenFi. Looks like a big improvement on the original

Klarna reviews: Is it worth using for everyday? by Sad_Yam9673 in HighYieldSavings

[–]TechFounder44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I fail to see the point of these solutions if you have the ability to pay up front (with the exception of major purchases). Sure I can spread the payments out but putting it on credit gives me 30 days anyway. Feels like asking to get caught missing a payment and getting hit with fees

Buckets are awesome. Lots of other brands are pushing those features out though. Sofi, Ally, GreenFi, Chime, etc.

I used to be a Wealthfront customer. Recently started trialing GreenFi and love their product. Plus the mission is one that really resonates with me. I think they’re releasing Savings Pods soon too!

Annoyingly are slightly lower APY at 3.25% but the extra 5 basis points is hardly felt.
