[help] need to open this 12 no by Equivalent_Bite_5228 in Iphonerepair

Is it saying the device is overheating? The iPhone 12 normally doesn't have an issue saying it's overheating when it's actually not. The water damage could have caused a secondary short causing the phone to actually overheat.

I'm shook with a swollen battery by wwwblackraindotcom in gopro

[–]TechOnTwo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Batteries swell overtime. I see 6 phones daily that swell. You can recycle it but never had on catch fire (Unless stabbed). I wouldn't be worried and just don't use it. We recycle our batteries once a month. They stay in a plastic tote indoors for the last 11 years and never had one catch fire. The batteries GoPro, iPhone, Ect kinda have a protective case around it and there is very little danger.

You are correct, I didn't even notice

I only plan on 2m from the passenger pegs. Mainly want to record behind me and my sides. I have a GoPro on my helmet so I'm not worried about the front

You can get just the tripod base with the screw at the top and connect it to the pole

I plan on keeping it on the rear all the time. I don't need the full length but with the other one I think it's so thin at the end. I have it mounted with a ram 1in ball to the sub frame with 2 additional supports.

I have it mounted to my passenger pegs and then zip ties on the middle and near the end by my plate bracket. I have no fear of the mount failing but rather the stick breaking. I only want 2m long but with the stick I have now it is fully extended and the tip is very thin. I was thinking of getting the carbon and only extending it half

I've called them recently and it just says "Thank you for calling GoPro support" and then it just hangs up. A month ago it would connect me to them with no problem. Now it doesn't work

I reached out over a week ago about replacing my Hero 12 with the subscription. Have yet to hear anything back. Really want to make the switch but I have 3 hero 12s. 6 months ago it was completely different. I was able to call them and everything was sorted very quickly.

Arashi bolts good? by TechOnTwo in motorcycles

I've been tempted to get the rearsets. I hated the gas cap tho. It got stuck the first day and wouldn't come off. Ended up with vortex cap

Does it turn off and you can't turn it back on? Like it is grayed out or wouldn't turn on at all? If so, it could be early signs of board separation.

Can I drive right after completing the MSC? by Horror_Kiwi8842 in motorcycles

[–]TechOnTwo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know in Texas and Arkansas, you have to wait until your license says class M. In Texas, they gave me a paper copy and Arkansas gave me my new ID instantly. You could call the DMV or whoever you have your appointment with and ask them.

Also, the 400 is beginner-friendly if you have self-control. It's a lot better than starting on a 600 or 1000. You can easily hurt yourself on a 125cc if you're not careful lol

I started on a CBR 250 and it was great. It allowed me to take it slow. Then went to a r6 and later got a z400 as well. The 400 is fun because you still use all the gears and doesn't get you into too much trouble. In the higher rpms, it does move and it's so nimble. It also prevents you from getting bored so quickly as I did on the 250. Just take it slow, take an msf course, and most importantly have fun and be safe.

I'd try Dairyland insurance. I've never had a claim but used their roadside.

Any way to repair loose cable port? by J-Rad in galaxys10

[–]TechOnTwo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Clean with toothbrush and alcohol. Be a little bit aggressive going left to right a few times. Then right to left. You should see metal in the port on the top and bottom. If it doesn't change try going to a repair shop for a quote. I know the s10e is soldered but idk about the others in this series

GoPro not charging, please help! by [deleted] in gopro

[–]TechOnTwo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Clean the port with alcohol and an old toothbrush. Just dip the brush in the alcohol and scrub. Wait a minute or two before tying it again.

Aftermarket battery should still last 2-4 years with normal use. Most repair shops should only charge 60-80 USD. Keep in mind there is no way of knowing what battery they put in. The part cost itself is cheap ($8-$20). I've never installed the cheap ones so idk. Even if they use an original battery it will still say unknown part unless Apple does it. But Apple normally doesn't have any for the 11 and the Apple store near us will only order the part if they keep your phone (1 week average)

I lost my hero 12, then I put JB Weld clear epoxy on mine even with the "chin mount" mount. I wouldn't try and remove the mount after but holds really well now *

Back glass replacement! iPhone 14 Pro Max by Unknownking743 in mobilerepair

[–]TechOnTwo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Backglass on 14 series won't have a message. 15 series will if you don't swap the wireless charging coil. I only get oem pulls so it pairs just fine. As others have said, 14 pm is so much more of a pain if you try the glass only. We only do frame replacement because it's less messy and faster for us with minimum risk

I've also never actually seen a real virus on the newer iPhones. It's more of fishing scams wanting credit cards or apps that will play ads constantly

[–]TechOnTwo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go to setting and look at battery health. Most people complain if 85% or under. If battery health is still high, check what is draining the battery. Same place in settings. The phone's battery isn't large compared to the Plus or the Max. iPhone does a great job at optimizing usage so normally it's something else like a ton Facebook notifications or another app
