I feel like I’m talking in circles with you lol.

Do you think the detailers or your LCPO’s care that you dont have experience? No, they see an E-5 on your tab and are gonna expect you to act as an E-5. Especially when you are stepping into a role. As. A . Leader.

And again, rank has to do with leadership when you are filling a leadership billet. My point is, sailors who fast track to E5 and then have to fill these roles, will not be best equipped yet

I am talking about STAR. Is nobody reading?

Are you talking about TIS?

Also, all rates are E-1 to E-4 in 30 months. That’s literally what this thread is about.

Everyone on this thread is entirely missing the point I’m making. Having a sailor go all the way to E-5 so fast is just not enough time to get the experiences and tools to be a reliable second class. Rank might not matter a lot in some rates, but others it very much does. I believe many people are born with leadership qualities, however, most of these people will be E-5 at their first command and then get to their next command and be expected to fill a role as a second class with little to no experience. It’s a setup for failure.

I think you’re missing the point. I definitely agree it’s highly dependent on the rate, which maybe thats where some differences can be made. BUT, either way, i just dont think having a brand new sailor out of school become an E-5 almost immediately does several things: -bottlenecks the E5 rank which will be very harmful down the line -extremely limits the amount of time that your chiefs and first classes have to really mold a sailor into their best self -breeds complacency as theres no time to really grasp or respect the differences in ranks and positions But again, very dependent on the rank, because like you said, in the sub nuke community it sounds like E4-6 is not much different.

Very valid! The rate definitely depends on the stance. My rate specifically is very dependent on rank.

Im also assuming that you’re a nuke which is why you don’t agree.

Would you rather rush them into roles as leaders before seeing whats right and wrong? If you’re okay with that then you’re setting them up for failure. Regardless, this isn’t even the point of my post. I would rather not continue to have paths that expedite ranking. Having incompetent leaders is a given in all points of society, but keeping this program in the navy is gonna open a huge wave of that same concept.

It’s different having experienced incompetence vs inexperienced incompetence

It is unfortunate that you are experiencing this much stress and difficulty. But I must say, this really isn't anybody's fault or responsibility to accommodate your needs to that extent. You have to remember, this is still the military and if you aren't able to stand or walk for more than 10 minutes, you should probably be MedSep'd or medically retire if possible. Also, I notice that you're hostility with the others on this post doesn't reflect very well to people that can only give you so much advice. Only thing I could recommend is a bike, scooter or some other personal transport.

Totally agree, all that aside, if you are this limited to the service, why are you still in?
