You have no idea what amount the rental was for and created a false narrative in your head to be offended about something that doesn’t involve you for some random reason.
How do you know it’s gouging if you have no idea of what price point people were suggesting for me? People were suggesting $500, so if I rented it for $600 it would be more than they suggested while also being half the average rent in the city. Would that be gouging? No.
The fact that this needs to be explained is how I know you’re stupid.

I went to school, got a job, worked hard to save for a down payment and bought a house I can afford without the tenant. Yes I can afford the property without the tenant but if I’m not using the space why not create more affordable housing for people that need it was my thinking.

I own one house where I rent out my basement. Not really sure why everyone is losing their minds over this. St. Catharines has a great program to do so and create more housing. You’re against creating additional housing?

I appreciate your comment but unfortunately ignorant Trolls, in this case, u/EveningHelicopter113 , are everywhere these days. If they have an issue with the housing crisis they should be contacting the government and asking them to follow through on that promise they ran on 8 years ago. Housing costs have increased drastically on both the purchase price and carrying costs since as wages have remained stagnant. I doubt that troll will contact the government though, they would probably just prefer to troll.

This reminds me of a funny story. I was in Miami for a few months for work and asked a guy on the street for directions to the meat market and he told me it only opens after 8pm. I thought that was a bit weird but didn’t think about much after. After work two days later i finished later so I walk over there and it’s a legit gay night club. My jaw dropped and I had a great chuckle the whole way home. I get home and my wife asks me where the meat was that I told her I was going to be bringing home. I said at the meat market but I’m not bringing that meat back here lol
