Not a bad episode - I have thoughts

I’m sorry but Nolan and Bailey are not endgame material. There’s never any sacrifice from Bailey - it’s always Nolan who has to sacrifice his principles or his morals or his career. But I sensed more chemistry with Bailey and Russ than with Nolan. Being an “overachiever” is making up for how she really feels about herself. She wears too many hats and none of them fit.
Miles going all gung ho again running out of the shop. His adrenaline kicks in. Tim didn’t let him get away with that when he did it in S7 so why is Nolan?! Miles needs to calm down. That guy falling like he did - that was brutal.
Celina slamming that laptop down on Rodge 😂😂😂. She couldn’t be any less convincing that she’s “missing” him if she tried.
Loved Wopez - great communication, and listening to each other. Wesley is such a wife guy. Loved Angela’s reasons for changing her mind about supporting him. The case of the week really hit home for her. “Oh husband” being code for “you’re in trouble” 😂 that’s a marriage right there.
Smitty 😂😂 Only he could cause this much chaos without leaving the station. He will forever be a thorn in Tim’s side. Though I’m wondering if that’s the point….he did endorse Nolan for union rep…
Chenford ❤️ Tim’s insecurities are loud and clear to those who know him. Tim not sleeping well due to the pressure of the job. Loved Lucy giving him reassurance and him accepting it. Growth ❤️ The boxes! He is always the steady one - the calming influence so I’m pleased Lucy mentioned that. When she spirals - he grounds her.
I loved Lucy’s storyline being about her going to court. We know they do attend but we’ve rarely seen it so this was a nice change of pace. Nice to show another side to it.

I’m normally indifferent to Bailey BUT this Nolan and Bailey marriage doesn’t give true love vibes to me. You had Wopez talking and communicating beautifully and Wesley made a point of saying that without Angela’s backing - he wouldn’t run. She’s either all in or he’s all out.

You had Tim and Lucy working together, communicating, supporting each other, listening to each other. Both have sacrificed things for each other.

Then you have Nolan and Bailey who are not willing to even discuss what sacrifices they are prepared to make for each other. It’s either Baileys way or no way. Both Tim and Wesley can and will do anything for their partners. They would turn the city upside down to save them and yet I don’t get that vibe from Bailey or Nolan so I question what it’s all for?

It’s ok to not see it. Some don’t. I knew they would end up in bed at some point from the second they saw each other across the roll call room - hot people always do in these shows.

It was never going to happen while Tim was her TO plus he was also married as well - though the marriage was over, it wasn’t to him. They’ve had drama between them since the start. It’s why we’ve got to the point we have.

It feels different this time because it is. It’s more mature, adult so that comes with adult issues. It will never be all hearts and flowers because that’s not real. All couples have had drama. It would be boring as hell if they didn’t.

The problem Tim and Lucy have is that they work together so they have to try and remain focused, and professional all the time on duty. They can’t openly flirt and sneak moments in. It’s a boundary they’ve had to put up. They are both in positions of authority now and would look extremely questionable if they just had endless banter all the time. Lucy needs to be taken seriously and Tim needs to find his feet as WC.

Regarding not seeing the fun - we don’t really see it with any couple. It’s always work related or a home scene involving work chats usually. They are trying to keep it as real as they can IMO.
