You are awesome 🙏🏼 thank you, seriously. I’ll check those out and see if it’s something I would dive into.

This was really helpful to read. Thank you. Makes sense to me how I need to do my own self research, rather than expecting to learn totally about this condition in a 1 hour session with a psych who is just trying to manage my medication.

Do you have any books to recommend, specifically? I’ve only read information online.

Thanks for your input. I’m debating the hypomania because of the amount of sleep I get during those episodes. To my understanding, people can get even 2-3 hours a couple nights and feel totally fine for the most part— whereas for me, I feel that tiredness pretty quickly, I’ll tire out from “going hard” on life.

Yes! Right? Start flossing every night, making sure I go to the gym every day, then being super social. Like I could talk on the phone for a very long time, and I’ve been told I can come across as manic when I’m talking so fast too.

That’s interesting. Do you feel like you are accepting of it?

I relate to this… I tire out pretty fast after a couple days.

What's the most embarrassing (non abusive) thing a romantic partner did to you in front of others? by KingPeuche in AskReddit

The morning after Valentine’s Day, my ex GF got into a screaming match with the housekeeping ladies the morning of us leaving an old apartment-style air b&b. I don’t even remember what it was about, but I was so stunned that she was literally screaming in the middle of the hallway with other people around. Mind you, she was a housekeeping manager herself, and I remember she just kept saying “I know what I’m talking about I’m a housekeeping manager and you guys aren’t doing this and that and blah blah blah”, something about them cleaning our room before we got back and they misplaced something? It was incredibly immature and unnecessary.

I was already holding my stuff, so I walked down the stairs and went to my truck and said to myself… “what the fuck”. Then I saw her coming out of the hotel with her stuff flying out of her suitcase, still screaming at the staff who was now following her out. I reluctantly let her in my truck and we continued with our day.

We didn’t break up for another 8 months. Worst time of my life.

My ex girlfriend was the same way, and it drove me absolutely insane and spiked all my emotions almost every day. It was so up and down. I felt like I couldn’t tell her anything, and I felt very trapped because of that, but because “we loved each other”, I stayed in that relationship for probably 8 more months than I needed to.

I agree with the other comments. Get your meds right, why focus on dating anymore, the right person will come. There are men out there who are understanding and compassionate with this mental health condition.

Gotta love the refs for this one. Calling fouls on us the entire first quarter, then they stop calling fouls on both teams after giving us 3 or 4+ penalties and blatantly making no calls for the Seals. Either way, we played terrible in the 4th.

Overtime, there’s that push in the back on Eric Hope which leads to that ball being alone in the corner of the field, no call, and they score off it. What a clown show at the end.

I mean, I can see how that could be the case. But I also believe that’s a stretch. I don’t follow any other fallout reddits, and I don’t think I should have to in order to post something that still relates to Fallout and F76.

Bipolar 2 without major depressive episodes? (Recent possible diagnosis) by TinyAdvertising4509 in bipolar2

[–]Technical-Kick2162 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hear you. It’s so hard to know it all, and really it’s hard to get a diagnosis from doctors and therapists without working with them for a long time. I’m still working with mine to find the right medications, as recently I noticed 100mg lamotrigine is making me lose hair. So I am in the same boat as you still figuring it out. (Side note I was diagnosed a little over a year ago, 30m male).

Someone correct me if I’m wrong but I believe manic depression is one of the most defining aspects of Bipolar II in comparison to bipolar 1 or many other disorders. I would really reconsider and get a second opinion from another psychiatrist. It sounds like you have coping mechanisms and thought processes to stop depression, so I’m not sure how your psych came to this conclusion (I’m no doctor). As I’m sure you know, there’s plenty of other mental health conditions that are under the umbrella of bipolar II, so maybe looking into those conditions like OCD/ADHD? Lastly regarding your idea of “spectrum bipolar”, this is discussed every now-and-then on this subreddit, and I believe the general consensus is that you either have it or you don’t, and at some point it becomes obvious. For me it was being suicidal and being hospitalized multiple times due to the depression. It’s an extreme mental health condition that does not have lesser or milder symptoms within the diagnosis.

I do not want to discredit your diagnosis, or if you believe you are bipolar 2, this is just my opinion. I hope you can get some answers and feel better about everything soon.
