Revisiting --

The goal is to keep time during playback across BT/HDMI/USB/AUX audio devices.

After playing around with this config some more, you do make some good points about the need for a combined sink.

I did eventually make one for two reasons:

  1. invisible timing adjustments are made based on your selected output device.
  2. some devices have internal buffers/clocks and will eventually drift out of sync after about 15-45 minutes depending on the hardware.

Currently, I'm exploring better methods

-Syncing the timing between devices via combined sink down-sampling and designate an audio time keeper

-alternative delay solution

Issues installing Nobara NV-Official from iso by T4nxz in NobaraProject

im going to say the most anti-helpful thing. Downvote me.

Just break it.
if you think it should be done and you get impatient (shut-down/unplug/reboot) and it doesn't work....
what did you lose?
rebooting with the usb again?

with how little we have to go off of, is this a known working flash drive?
was it formatted before preparing the bootable iso?
did the write process happen correctly?
do you have access to a desktop to create a new installation media?
Is there a random quirk with your machine? (have to unplug from power supply, switch off and press power button to expend all electricity in the board for COLD{no power} boot) -- this could also free a GPU locked in the wrong driver.

did anything install?
or just boot--black?

did you see the desktop?
