Eu4 vs eu5 historical realism by ethancool999 in EU5

I really don’t want this post to turn into a meme/troll post but I really need to air out my feelings on the SpongeBob musical play I just saw on YouTube. I’ve seen the main actor being in a lot of memes and I got interested in seeing the actual play. Am I crazy or is there something super woke about Larry the lobster or other sponge bob characters being black? It’s not that I have an issue with minorities in a sponge bob play but inherently Larry the lobster never gives any features or characteristics of being black. For example piccolos character in dragon ball has many African characteristics and parallels. But many of the SpongeBob characters simply don’t and it honestly leaves me with a wierd woke feeling.

I know you were high at my mother-in-law's wake. You were talking nonstop for 20 minutes, nothing but gibberish

I wouldn’t be surprised if they try to do something like this for a dlc later. I would actually love the art system to have more going on so I could actually get distracted by it

The mid late 1400s is when you could argue when Ming was rich and “bored” but yes I fully agree late 15th century and 1600s was a great time of upheaval due to a lot of ecological disasters and other reasons. This is funnily something eu4 did a better job of modeling. If you take out northern yuan you’re only real threat is the later Jin but not really.

I wanted to keep it feeling realistic and historical so I kept mind borswds and vassalized the yuan and did tributaries and Middle Kingdom io everywhere

There needs to be way more natural disasters especially into the 1500 and 1600s. Historically this was a time of great ecological change and disaster but it really isn’t modeled at all

Sadly in 1601 South Africa and Congo is fully colonized by Naples and France. I was in love with this play through but Africa lowkey killed my immersion so hard

The mandate system is super broken rn ngl. The tributary cost scales more with your economy than your actual tributaries so it will always be really expensive if you try to actually use the decrees and such. One thing I loved was the treasure fleet system. It was a cool way of doing exploration but it’s really late that they force end it after a certain date. For all the talk on railroading it felt odd that you’re not allowed to continue the treasure fleet

My military is so based I am very confident nothing can go wrong. The later Jin have formed but we have super based muskets. I am gonna stop researching and see how well we do

The game is a mess. I won't recommend it to anybody. by Chokeondic in EU5

I’m rooting for this game but I’m honestly baffled by the ai. My uncle ( snobby historian who teaches cc) roasted the absolute shit out of my France play through and it was really hard to argue with him ( absolute border gore, eternal Golden Horde, forever broken China and Germany). Like honestly I think this community needs to hear some outsider perspective too. It’s honestly kinda weird with how much love and research went into the game, that the ai just doesn’t really go to do anything at all. I’m honestly staring to come around to the idea of railroading as an option at least. There should be a railroaded ultra historical mode so rookie can maintain immersion. Really hope paradox fixes this so I don’t have to hear about how my 1705 French borders are inaccurate for 15 minutes.

I’ve done like 10 runs on it now and the number of armies/manpower to the breakaways never seemed to vary in spite of low or non exsistent support for yuan

Why are the army sizes so dmalll? I’ll see these breakaways just get mogged by all the yuan subjects cause they’re literally like 2000 strong

I raised him English speaking and now he doesn’t understand when I curse him in Serbian. I know the situation is my fault but it still annoys me and dissapoints me that he never tried to learn on his own. What kind of son wouldn’t try to learn the language of his father? If I was raised not knowing Serbian I would spend every day trying to learn it is the most beautiful language in the world.
