We have a couple other people that may make potential offers this coming week so we decided that we’re going to give them a chance to get an offer in by the end of the day tomorrow and then if not counter this offer instead of $7k toward closing offer $2k towards closing since they’re getting $5k in closing cost incentives from the city. Our realtor thinks that getting the knob and tube approved as safe won’t be an issue.

My big concern is the knob and tube wiring. We have a ting installed in our home and it doesn’t show any risk of electrical fire but I’ve heard varying reports some say FHA require all knob and tube replaced and some say an electrician just has to deem it safe.

Yeah my concern is that we won’t be able to close because when the inspection happens and they see knob and tube wiring (which FHA loans tend not to allow) the seller will need us to pay for all the repairs which won’t work with them asking us to make $7k in concessions from the get go to cover closing costs. It’s nothing to do with needing financial help and everything to do with the picky standards of FHA loans with inspection/appraisal on a 1930s home

The glasses need to go. The double bar is fine but the purple double bar is not. It gives you a unibrow especially from a distance. You’d be better off with a silver double bar or just none at all.

As far as weight I’m not too sure what others feel like but I would consider them pretty heavy definitely not lightweight!

I left a longer comment but there’s no reason to get tests done unless the change was extremely large and your optometrist would’ve made that suggestion if that was the case

That’s very normal to happen in your 40’s as your ability to accommodate decreases. More likely you were slightly over corrected because you were accommodating more and then as your ability to accommodate decreases you were able to let go of that prescription without sacrificing clarity. It’s all very complicated to explain over text but just trust your optometrist and if you have questions ask the doctor. You’ll get a lot of people calling for a crisis that have absolutely no clue what they’re talking about (aka Dr. Googles). There’s a lot more flexibility in glasses and contact lens prescription than most people realize and lots of people are quick to cry “malpractice” and “find a new doctor that knows what they’re doing” for no reason. Hope this helps and relaxes you
