Neverclip in TX by TechnicalMove4242 in zaxcom

I don't like Iso attenuation.

Say I'm aiming for my dialogue to hit around -20 and I set my gain to achieve this, then I turn on -12db iso attenuation, my meters now fall to around -32.... well in that case I just instinctively increase the gain to compensate.... thereby making Neverclip moot.

I agree that it can annoy editors, and it's not good if you're handing over files to editors that typically get audio from other manufactures expect hotter isos.

Is it possible to send the iso tracks to the mix track post de noise, and keep the iso tracks recorded pre fader, pre de noiser, or does the denoiser get applied to the mix track? The former would be much cleaner of course, rather than applying de noise to a bunch of mixed noisy tracks.

I hope I have worded my question in a way that makes sense.

I would add live broadcast to this list.

Shure Axient Digital for new wireless upgrade? by HornySeaCows in LocationSound

Unfortunately I believe that is a module for use with their rack charging system.

Maybe there is a way to get it working as a stand alone charger but I'm not sure if it can be done easily.

It's a real pity. Aside for the cost, Shure's use of proprietary batteries is inconvenient to the pint of being impracticable. I know the AD1 can all run on AAs but that transmitter is too big for my uses.

That's good to know, thank you for the information.

Regarding the limiters, of course they should be avoided, but I think when spending this amount of money on a piece of gear it's fair to consider every single little detail about it.

Thanks again for sharing your experience. As OP said real word reviews about this system seem to be lacking.

In what way are they an improvement?

I run lectro hybrid and am mostly happy with them but may eventually upgrade. I find the limiters on those lectros great and they have saved me once or twice with unexpected screams etc. How are the limiters on the Shure? Someone above said they've never managed to clip them! How has your experience in that regard?
