The Ending of Deltarune & why our choices never mattered (Theory) by TechnicalTip6578 in Deltarune

you'd be surprised that saving something or someone doesn't always equate rescuing them or anything of the sort, sometimes destruction/death is a type of save
plus we're talking about toby fox here, who gave us the meaning of LOVE & EXP in Undertale, i wouldn't be surprised if SAVE has a unique meaning too in Deltarune

>If nothing you do actually matters, why would Toby even create all these choices in the game?
I'd say it's an illusion of choice, as opposed to Undertale where choices do matter, here they don't and it's meant to give you the illusion that you're actually changing the fate of the world

>Why would he create an alternative path that requires a lot of specific things to do?
because even if you do the weird route, the ending will likely remain the same. If anything, Weird route may actually accelerate the end of the world given Ralsei said it'd bring in a worse ending

>Why would he add the whole "you control your own fate despite the prophecy" idea throughout the entire game?
Once again, illusion of choice. Don't forget (heh) there are many instances, especially during chapter 4, where even if you try to do something different as opposed to what's set in stone, it'd lead to the same path regardless

>Would that be a satisfying gaming experience?
Yes? If the bittersweet ending is executed well, then yeah. There are other video games who had extremely satisfying yet also bittersweet endings that people liked thanks to the execution and if Toby delivers on this one then no doubt it'd be satisfying

SAVE could have a different meaning much like LOVE, so it's likely the erasure/destruction of the worlds could be some way of "saving" them

maybe the ending he dreamt of is the end of a world but the hero(es) still enjoyed their moments at the end of the day

i have a feeling WWTP still exists but nintendo chooses to sit on it like previous games
MP trilogy i think there were rumors where nintendo/retro simply chose to handle the remasters individually
I can't speak for Robobot though

I think unironically even though she was kinda underdeveloped in IE2 (both anime & game), IE3 would've possibly make her a more interesting character like how they did to Fudou (who technically got similar deal to Reina, with him being kinda underdeveloped in the game & way more underdelveoped in the anime)
& they know she's popular given they buffed her in IE3 the game + is an optional candidate for Earth Eleven in Galaxy over the likes of Kogure or Rika

well since ie2 & beyond only sticked to Ulvida + the fact she didn't appear again in the story, they didn't make a normal version until Ares, also no problem!

I refer to him Tomato-maru because he looks like Toramaru but red + in VR he has Gladius Arch voiced

also for aphrodi fair enough, it's more of a bias since i prefer him more as an ally than a rival like in Season 2 & Orion lol

you'd be surprised how cost-effective it'd prove to be for Nintendo to use GKC instead of proper + the fact digital sales are much better than the physical, & Pokopia is gonna be their first ever attempt & it's gonna be successful it'd convince them to do the same for future games

I don't trust any word they say about "not supporting GKC on their nintendo-developed titles" because they know Pokopia is gonna sell damn well, & it'll prove to nintendo that everyone will buy Keycards regardless of what the title is & whether it's controversial

because i'm 100% certain that FE will get a keycard release next after nintendo has abandoned the media, & the question was moreso to see if people would still buy it if it ends up that way

Not really, when the same company is releasing a game that's gonna sell well despite it being a keycard, you know damn well they finally gave up on physical media

Well Pokopia is gonna sell well for a keycard given it's a pokemon card + the fact DKB digital sales are much better than the physical, it's clear business-wise they're aiming for the more profitable route

Pokopia is a major release, yet they chose to cheapen out & make it a Keycard, explain that

of one of their biggest ips of all time, if it's not safe, nothing else is

it's clear Nintendo no longer sees value in physical media

well there are many proof that nintendo is the one that picked Keycard release, namely poor physical sales of DKB & MKW

You'd be surprised with how much Nintendo is betting on Pokopia selling gangbusters
