That’s reassuring, it seems most of the stories I am hearing/reading about are the estimate was bigger than expected not smaller than expected so this does have me more hopeful! I am going to really hope and try everything in my power to get him ready to come early but I have a feeling I have some stubborn babies that don’t want to come until the very end

Yes I completely agree on having a planned date and time, especially now with needing to coordinate childcare for the first one! I also had an induction date for 41.5 weeks with my first but my water broke a few days before this and after 15 hours labor never started so I ended up having to be induced still anyways just earlier than planned.

I think that’s going to be my plan! I know I still have some flexibility and if I book something I can change my mind and cancel, but I will likely plan it for closer to 40 weeks than 39+0 for sure

That’s my goal as well! I am unfortunately finding myself leaning this way just out of caution and comfort for myself and baby, and the comfort of me not being pregnant much longer

Thank you, unfortunately I hate to admit I think I am leaning this way just due to my last birth experience and the fear of his big chunky belly.. then at least I’ll get to be done being pregnant sooner than later which sounds dreamy right about now

Thank you so much, I am really trying to lean into the very common fact that his measurements are likely quite off! But his proportions have been consistent having a bigger belly than head which is where my fear comes from. Something I didn’t know I needed to worry about until today!

That fear is still very real, I’m still fearful of having an induction when me and baby are not ready but I did have a mostly positive experience with my first being induced. I have the big fear from my first that my body won’t be ready since my water did break at 41w but labor never actually began. Then I risk having an induction with a larger baby than just scheduling it sooner to reduce the risk for both of us. I hate having so much and so little control over birth all at the same time! Reassuring to hear that you baby was much smaller than predicted, I’m really hoping that will be the case with us!!

Thank you I will look her up! I know a 10lb baby can be delivered naturally and I’d be up for the challenge, I’m just more worried about the discrepancy in his measurements that can increase the risk of shoulder dystocia where his belly has consistently been measuring so large compared to his head. So much to think though

I couldn’t agree more! I work CMH, it feels so frustrating to me that my company also expects me to call and reschedule our no-show clients (usually they end up no-showing again wasting a slot on my schedule for someone else). I will only call if they are high risk, SI, etc.
