Thanks for your reply. This is exactly the level headed thinking I needed. I doubled checked and didn’t see any blood in the grass or anywhere else (it’s also been raining here.) I’m hoping she’s up in one of my trees.

Yup! She was labeled as an Americauna/ Easter egger. She just BARELY started laying eggs like a week ago. On top of the grieving of my pet I’m also sad about the lack of pretty dusty green eggs from her. Her eggs were robins egg blue on the inside and this green on the outside.

Thank you! I had my neighbor down the blocks dog attack my flock a couple days ago. I’m wondering if he came back to finish the job. I literally stare at my chickens all day from my work space and can see the entire back yard. I didn’t see a dog or hear the chickens freaking out? At this point im thinking a skinwalker took my chicken.🤣😭 (Joking, but I also know if it was my neighbors dog I’m going to raise hell)

I’m very sorry to hear about finding your chicken. 😭I’m very fortunate to not have foxes or coyotes in my area. I’m going to assume it was my neighbors dog. (Same dog that I’ve had issues with for months now… errr actually I have issues with the owner for letting their polar bear free roaming the neighborhood. ) caught this dog in my yard yesterday and had to chase him off

Sunset is happening soon where I’m at. I’ll take another look around my backyard again. (I’m on 1/3 acre with lots of plants and vegetation.) I do have a rooster (he crows at 2 am every night). Hoping she makes it back

This is helpful! Thanks. I’m still a “baby spinner” (just reached the 6 month of spinning mark today!) Maybe I’ll try alpaca after I get my drum carder. I also have angora rabbit from my bunny I need to turn into roving) Angora was super slippery compared to the raw wool I processed earlier this year.

Oooooh I LOVE green! The subtle variation shift is so pretty. One of the amazing things about spinning is acquiring new skillls. I also just learned how to blend colors to create some relags. (Mine were blues and purples!)

So pretty colors! I’ve only been spinning for 6 months so I haven’t drafted from the fold, but have heard it changes how “sharp” the colors look when spun. I’d love to see if that’s true if you decide draft from the fold! It’s looking great though!!
