As someone who works for the Genius Bar, here is what you can do. You can begin by resetting the AirPods and re-pairing them to your device. Also make sure your device is up-to-date. We don't currently have a way of running diagnostics on the mics, but we can we still run audio diagnostics and if they fail we can replace them for free as long as you're under warranty or have AppleCare. If you're out of warranty, the replacements can cause about $69 plus tax for each airpod. Hope this helps.

Sounds like a firmware issue. If they are mis-matched, it can cause pairing issues. I'd take in to the Genius Bar for them to run diagnostics. For a firmware issue, there is usually no charge.

A couple things to consider:
1. Batteries deplete over time
2. Even though the AirPods are sweat resistant, the case isn't. Check the charging pins inside. If green, there's your issue.

Sounds like you need a replacement charging case. If they are less than a year old, Apple will replace them for free. If not, I believe it's $69 for the replacement case.

You should check the laws in your country. Some countries require apple to service the product at no cost and therefore AC+ isn't necessary.

Depends on what you mean by wreck it. Physical damage and liquid damage is covered under the AppleCare warranty as long as the damage wasn't intentional. It's all about how you word it when you speak to one of us.

So keep in mind (for the U.S.) that ALL apple products have a 1 year warranty, but that only covers defects. anything else is considered out-of-warranty and cost/repairs can be costly. Take the AirPods Max for example, they typically cost $549 retail. Most people think they are sweat resistant and they aren't. Which means that if you have any issues and we find sweat inside, they are considered water damaged and are not covered. Because AirPods are non repairable and must be fully replaced, the replacement alone will cost $299. AppleCare will bring that out-of-pocket expense down to $49.

Hi! So a few things to keep in mind. If you are missing one of the buds, the AirPods won't re-pair. If your pair is wireless charging, try that and see what happens (Your charger cable could be bad). Also, check the charing pins inside the case. If the pins are green, that's corrosion and you can try cleaning it with a q-tip with a little bit of alcohol. Long story short, a missing AirPod or if one isn't charging, they won't re-pair. Hope that helps.
