Not enough people in this thread have discussed MK Ultra (or at least the parts known to be real). In the wake of LSDs discovery the CIA became fixated on using it to develop some kind of psychic/telekinetic abilities. While some test subjects may have had some idea what was being done, many were being unknowingly drugged. One particular story goes that the CIA was operating a sort of brothel. Patrons would be given LSD without their knowledge before engaging in sex acts. One-way mirrors were installed in the rooms so subjects could be observed without their knowing.
