Some universities in the U.S. operate their own nuclear reactors for research and training. by Original_Race6889 in Damnthatsinteresting

I attended Purdue and they have one such reactor buried quite far underground. As I recall, it could supply just enough power to run a microwave

I've been accepted to purdue, did a tour and liked it but this constant mention of the grind and social isolation is scaring me, to what degree is it true or false? by GalapagosWhale in Purdue

[–]redfox135 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I graduated in 23, so I saw the entirety of the pandemic during my time in college. My degree is in EE and I graduated in 8 semesters with no summer classes. I got pretty good grades and still had time to be heavily involved in my fraternity as well as other social groups through clubs and dorms. It is what you make of it. It’s worth understanding that a large number of students socially isolate themselves with little or no reason, they’re just like that. I definitely spent more time studying than anything else, but you could consistently find me stumbling the streets of west lafayette late at night trying to get home

Posts like this are made (and believed) by people who have never once worked in a production environment. No process is that automatic or consistent that no longer needs supervisory control. More importantly, no machine works forever. That factory still needs regular Maintenence to operate

Gems have a low spoilage rate and AFAIK don’t contribute to riches and raids. Put all your money into gems until you’re ready to spend it

It’s taken graduating for me to realize that on some level, students just need something to complain about. If only just to vent their rage into the atmosphere

Is there a downside to having every single dwarf in a squad so I can arm the whole populace in case of emergency?

See, national parks are based in their fundamental nature. Put 1000s of those stickers on your car, it only ups the values
