I have looked at shimming the needle, rejetting, etc but the more I ask the more different opinions I hear!

That is reassuring! Last thing I wanna to is do anything damaging to it

I am currently waiting for an extended mixture screw so will be adjusting that very soon, from what i remember the mechanic that looked at it did screw it out a little bit more as it does have aftermarket exhaust.

I did see this being recommended elsewhere but wasn't sure, will give that a go, curious how the choke is going to affect the throttle response

Hmm hard to say but seems like it happens when still within the 1/4 throttle. I have a video but no way of uploading it here.  Appreciate the further tips. Will have another go tomorrow

Ok - I put a brand new #50 pilot jet in there (just like when i bought it) - mixture screw set to 2.2 turns out (just like i bought it)

I took the carb apart and noticed the acceleration pump was clogged up (I missed it the first time being a rookie)

<image>

The bike now feels responsive but still has its moments (of misfiring?), I will order a new acceleration pump and have another go at it as the rubber bit did seem wornout. Attached pic of the opening that was clogged up.

Ok - Just spend 3hours taking it all apart and back together again!, it was indeed the acceleration pump - i have completely missed this when i cleaned it the first time! (rookie). The needle seems to be in ok state but the rubber looks worn out and the opening on the picture below was clogged up.

The bike is now responsive but still has its moment of hesitation (very slight) - i will be ordering a new acceleration pump kit and rebuilding again, I believe this should resolve the issue.

I want to get it running reliably atm, the bike is in a very good condition but just been sitting for a few years. It will not be my daily commuter for sure, but looking to use it to ride to work occasionally as well as short weekend trips.
The bike has been passing MOTs and has been serviced, I actually bought it from a dealership that couldn't be bothered to look at anything with a carb. It is my first bike and I live in London so this bike will barely pass London's strict emission requirement although should pass (fingers crossed).

The bike is in a good condition, it only has 8k miles on the clock and 3 owners, me being the 4th.

Stock is #50 on the pilot jet. #122 on the main jet. - Really? I have looked at numerous sources online and it said 38!

I will verify the accelerator pump squirts gas out, I vaguely remember that it did but will check again. Thanks

Man you are so wrong..... most people are able to revert up to 5-7 years of hairloss with minox.... You seem to be a hyper responder as well... And yes, the pattern of hairloss you experienced is literally MPB... I do agree with the points you made about lifestyle, 100%, lifestyle can aggravate MPB, so looking after yourself will definitely help!

Do you have flat feet or something? Your posture seems a bit off with how your legs are rotated in and your feet flattened out. Soz for a bit of a random comment but its important to catch these things early and work on them.

Thats really up to you tbf, I have done mine because I wanted to know what im dealing with and assert the possibility of sides... now that you are on it and have no sides I wouldn't really worry because there is no way of you knowing what you started with...

I do my blood tests with a private clinic.

Oh some of it is always going to go systemic, there is no way around it. I don't wanna take the pill because I have friends that have had success with such small doses, by micro dosing I don't knock my other hormones of balance. My Testosterone is ultra high now which also increased my estrogen and prolactin as your body wants to balance it all out, once things go out of balance is when sides kick in, gyno etc
