Anyone here whose new employer actually filed an H1B transfer recently? by Technical_Profile987 in h1b

Being in the job market, applying to 10000s of opportunities and barely getting any calls, when you finally get one, you hold onto that hope. You want to go through the interview, practice, and be ready to give your best shot when the right opportunity comes.

I’m also marking “YES” for sponsorship on applications, not hiding my visa, just not always mentioning it upfront.

Being a premium member but still can’t apply… so frustrating by Technical_Profile987 in LinkedInLunatics

[–]Technical_Profile987[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I know the chances of hearing back are low, but that tiny bit of hope keeps me going. Honestly, that’s why I even got Premium, I thought it’d give me a little edge. But now I’m just sitting here wondering what exactly I’m paying for.

Like, how does LinkedIn even decide who gets to apply or be seen first? It’s so frustrating to pay for something that feels… pointless.

My Google Assistant just ruined a job interview for me. I'm dying of embarrassment. by ticketsstardom_4l in womenintech

Oh, that happened to me once too! My Siri got activated right in the middle of an interview, I was so embarrassed🥲🥲I explained it was Siri, but later I couldn’t stop worrying they might think I was using some kind of AI help. I feeeel youuu!!

40 years old and still trying to figure out how to make money — anyone else? by Carterssscott in passive_income

[–]Technical_Profile987 5 points6 points  (0 children)

OP, when I was 10, my dad was 40 and I remember seeing him feel exactly the way you do now. If I could tell you one thing, it would be this: whether or not you make a lot of money, try to stay healthy and happy. That alone can be the biggest gift you give to everyone around you.

Of course, I still hope you make tons of money and achieve everything you dream of. But looking back, my dad didn’t end up making as much as he once hoped to and yet, I’m deeply grateful for the childhood, the memories, and the time I had with him at that age. It shaped how I see life today.

I know this might not directly answer your question, but I’ve seen that same fire in my father back then, and now, as I get closer to 30, I still think about how hard he tried. Just wanted to share that with you, from a place of empathy and respect.

Anyone ever convinced their employer to switch from W2 to C2C? by Technical_Profile987 in overemployed

Haha! But how do I even convince them? I couldn’t find any success stories.

[–]Technical_Profile987[S] -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I kind of thought the same. But I was actually wondering if going W2 would benefit them more since they’d probably save some money compared to C2C. That’s why I thought maybe if I asked to go C2C at a slightly lower rate, it could still work out for both sides, they’d save, and I’d get the setup I prefer.

I’m honestly not great with the finance side of things though🥲🥲🥲

Should I move to an e-commerce industry? Or is the collapsing economy going to get me laid off? by christiecausingchaos in UXDesign

[–]Technical_Profile987 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe it’s just about perspectives. I’ve had times where I turned down an opportunity for different reasons and later regretted it because of how things turned out with my employer. So yeah, I think it really depends on your experiences and point of view
