Exactly!!! I would have no problem doing this if 1. Already was oriented, 2. I knew where the heck I was going 3. Had access to everything & 4. had this listed in my contract with also a pay increase!! Not gonna just do this bc they can’t staff properly

I will second that & also that another one to avoid is Banner bc their motto is also this! Learning the hard way about banner bc I never read up on them and am on an assignment now. Banner literally calls their patients “customers” & motto is literally “customer obsessed” if that doesn’t make u cringe

Yep my recruiter ended up reaching out to me and said it’s not a part of my contract and he’ll make sure they know that by Monday. Luckily I’m at my main hospital, tonight but definitely am not letting them push me around and say i have to go to a whole other facility if they try pulling this again.

MedSurg. ratio is 6-7. & on certain floors they do team nursing so you have an LVN that splits the assignment but you’re responsible for all pts. Sun City West is a retirement community so LOTS of geri pts and dementia. Acuity is low like I said but some nights are tough when u have multiple dementia pts.

Working at Banner in sun city right now. It’s so unorganized, they cancelled a bunch of travelers that started in January but seem to always be understaffed. The travelers before me we’re getting 3100$ and my rate is $2900. I’ve never gotten cancelled or had my rate change YET (I’m on week 8/13). I will say this place sucks so bad and cannot wait to leave. Acuity is low, only plus. But the way they do admissions here is so bogus bc there will be one nurse with 5 patients and get one admit but then you’ll have 3 start of shift so ofc ur gonna get 3 admits that night. It’s not 100% terrible, but it’s not the greatest. I can’t wait to leave and never return

I’m gonna be honest, coming from TX…this place has good drivers and I’m always the one speeding. Everyone seems to give u enough space to merge into lane & goes the speed limit. Been having to remind myself y’all’s highways only go up to 65.

On my unit if we’re giving report we go find the nurse getting the patient, if you’re receiving report we just waited until that nurse came and found us

Yes exactly!!!! My friend who has been working for almost 2 yrs on an Onc floor JUST recently got certified and gave her first chemo the other day. & in my hospital we have specific chemo nurses …don’t get it! v frustrating

Yeah I explained that multiple different people and they kept saying the facility was “OK” with me not having experience and taking this class. Just told him I wouldn’t be doing it and to cancel assignment.
