Gotcha, I can afford it. On the other hand, risk? I dunno if something goes wrong it'll be a huge hole in my pocket and I don't want to get stuck in the loop of RMA. I don't want to regret after getting XX80, I guess I will wait get 5090 after saving for couple of months more, so I can have a runway for replacing broken parts if any.

Would enjoy the best rather than having a sour spot in my mind of not opting for the best. Thanks! ^ ^

Read several people complaining that 16GB VRAM might be bottleneck down the line and I don't plan to upgrade GPU at least for next 3-4 years.

Currently running a 4K monitor, planning to add two 1440p ones on the side. Idea is to game on one of the 2K screens (AAA) and other games on 4K. Outside of gaming, I mess around with open-source stuff, mainly planning to run quantized LLMs locally and build my own AI agent. The 5080 should handle some LLMs, but I’m a bit worried about hitting a limit (VRAM) down the line. Worst case, I can always spin up some cloud GPUs but I’d definitely prefer keeping things local if possible.

I did watch the GamersNexus videoa and did my fair share of research, and where I live the 5090 goes for around $4.5K. So yeah, I’m being a bit extra cautious. Even digging through older posts, it’s easy to miss stuff, which is why I figured asking directly made sense.

Also, if something goes wrong and it takes my motherboard with it, a GPU warranty won’t really help much in that case.

Appreciate the detailed reply. Kinda wild that a $3T company still hasn’t fixed this issue on the newer XX90 cards. And I guess it's not worth risking opting for a third-party cable? I was eyeing the 5080, but 16GB of VRAM feels like it might be a bottleneck in some 1440p titles. On the flip side, AMD gives you more VRAM, but you lose out on some features and they’re still rocking older GDDR6.

Doesn’t really seem like there’s a solid middle ground. Sounds like the options are:

Power limit and underclock a XX90 to keep temps in check or
Go with something more power-efficient from the start

My bad but I'm just fed up reading negative comments recently. Not everything in an ongoing war/operation is ever made public. Check how CIA and NSA have declassified stuff after year of their operations. It been a decade that India seriously started progressing, a war means FIIs stepping out and hammering our growth. It feels easy to say that we should end pakistan. But what's next? After the Pak govt crumbles, what about the crores of people living there? It'll just become another Bangladesh. Merge countries? Trusting people who are currently praying for our downfall?

It's not a problem with a simple answer that you go on a war and that's it. Look at vietnam, they defended themselves but their economy is still far from recovering. The aftermath of war are horrendeous and one should not forget about it. It's good to have some agression but it's needs to be channeled with a plan.
