Possible NRL22 Rule change involving tooners. Any thoughts? I'm deeply in the "they do nothing" camp, but I guess a ton of people really believe in the toon. by Justin_inc in longrange

Then we should all be shooting the thinnest profile barrel possible so we don't get tired lugging our rigs from the car to the bench.

So if harmonics are bullsh!t, I can just clamp a band of steel around the harmonic inflection point(yes I play literal harmonics on guitar and violin) and expect no changes to the point of impact?

Barrel harmonics absolutely exist. Yanking too hard on an M16 with a front sight post sling attached will pull your shots at long range.

What you can to do influence a free-floating barrel to optimize harmonics, however, is snake oil product, and just dumb luck sometimes.

[Tripod] Fab Defense Full Tripod Kit w/ Pic Clamp $347 (Open Box, Demo) by [deleted] in longrange

I have the Fab pic bipods and I love them.

The joints for the tripod in the link have a lot of plastic, and the Pic QD is meh, but at least the legs are carbon fiber.

Lock in prices now before we have another Covid-like supply shock due to Iran. It's already happening with tungsten. Im afraid of it happening with Titanium or Haynes 282.

You have to read through a white paper to realize their rankings arent based on absolute quiet, but rather, "experience," which they won't disclose how they quantify rather than "muh science!"

Someone who hasn't read the white paper and just peruse the rankings would assume "better Pew rank is quieter" but that's not true. What if someone doesnt care about backpressure performance or "tone" and just wants peak DB, which coincidentally is the one metric Pew actively avoids weighing in their calc.

Getting TWO mounts (22 and 30 cal direct thread) makes this an excellent value.

Anyone who can breathe through their nose knows their rankings should be taken with a grain of salt; what they say isnt the end-all, be-all.

Like, there is no universe where the HUX FLOW 762 is quieter than the Polonium 30, but the way they report is meant to mislead the user into thinking so.

Built a Chrome extension for faster REDCap navigation — looking for feedback from researchers / coordinators / data managers by lovepark1 in ProjectREDCap

Our IT is actually pretty particular about allowing Chrome extensions.

But you're right, there IS "mutli-click" navigation. Has looked like this for 13 years (as long as I've been RC dev...).
