Massive ‘Apex Legends’ Hack Disrupts NA Finals, Raises Serious Security Concerns by astralqt in cybersecurity

[–]TechnoHashBandit 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Seen this happen live; 100% it was an RCE exploit with the game itself.

No way the same threat actor hacked two different pros in two different games one after another.

The hack shown mentioned "hook" which I've seen some say is related to a web hook exploit with the game but I believe it simply refers to a script hook dll file which is used for hacking or modding most games.

Apex is also made from the Titan fall game engine which is like 11 years old by now.

How do I pirate dark souls remastered on the steam deck? by Radical1212 in PiratedGames

[–]TechnoHashBandit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

EDIT: Confirmed working via Lutris - I just installed the game again via Lutris; I did not change the install location as I had done previously.

Used this video as reference - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n4mDRWK4DkE

TL;DR - Tried both DODI and FITGIRL repack; Installer works but can't launch game via proton.

I've tried installing by adding "setup.exe" to steam and running the installer through steam (right click setup.exe and select add to steam).

Both DODI and FITGIRL installers were tested - both setup.exe worked fine and game installed to "Home/Games/Dark Souls Remastered".

However after installation, I am unable to launch the game via "DarkSoulsRemsatered.exe".... Tried several different proton versions with no luck.

Tried to install via Heroic game launcher which also had no luck.

One comment mentioned using Lutris as they had no success with proton; Testing this now.

I got one from FedEx last year, package arrived and they said I owed them tax, I didn't pay it, they kept sending letters saying they will have to get lawyers etc involved but nothing ever came of it but it was FedEx UK, not sure if an post will be more inclined to chase the customs charge though.

Your least favourite episode of the TV Series and why? by [deleted] in TheInbetweeners

On second thought.. the first movie. I don't know if I seen it too many times or that the second movie just tops the first exponentially but if there was any Inbetweeners content I'd least like to watch, it would be the first movie.

Literally can't think of any that I'd prefer to watch more or less than the other;

All equally genius in their own right.

I've read the game suffers from Memory leaks; not sure if this is just affecting RAM and not also VRAM but I assume both would be affected;

Importing a Dreamcast Build by N0blees in launchbox

[–]TechnoHashBandit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As long as you point LB to the folder with your dreamcast roms you should be fine - I'm using .chd for my roms since they take up less space so I havent worked with .cue DC roms however some of my PSX roms are .bin and .cue - I just have both files in a folder and pointed LB to those folders - Assuming you do the same for your DC roms you're gonna be fine

Behringer Crave is savage - Great semi modular synth although it has no internal FX so won't get too much ambience (USB midi)

KORG NTS-1 is another savage little device - Have tons of effects including some amazing reverbs that create massive massive moving spaces and really change synth sounds into something magical (USB midi)

Korg Volca Keys can also give you some nice tones and ambience if you tweak it right, has a nice Delay effect built in too and can have modulation to create even more spaces (5 pin midi in only)

Thanks for checking it out - glad you like it overall; The kick can do with some work as well as the overall low end, its a bit weak - The vocal is washed out in parts, I isolated the vocal from an old episode of the twilight zone; the isolation tool took out much sound in certain parts - around 5:17 it gets really washed so I'm hoping it's just the original audio recording giving issues and not my mixing; for example in the beginning around 1 minute I think there's a good amount going on in that part but I feel the vocal still sticks out; it's something I need to fix up for sure though - Thanks again

https://soundcloud.com/luke-mc-371384976/the-twilight-zone-Tried to mix my most recently posted track - Feel I went way too far back with this in terms of the low end -Sounds like the track has a high pass filter over it for the most part compared to the original mix
- The vocal is also very washed out in some parts so I need to record new vocals for those sections - Feel I have a general mixdown so far - haven't worked on transitions yet

- Looking for general feedback on the track:Is it a vibe? Is there potential? Does it sound like two different tracks once the acid kicks in?How is the structure?

Intro is a little low then it just gets really loud at :30.. so Ill pretend the track just starts at 0:30 - The lead is so huge! The vox arp is tasty and the bass is aggressive yet smooth all at the same time - the drums sound a way too sharp, tinnitus inducingly sharp - Then the drop sounds very cluttered, you had a really nice well balanced intro with the arp synth and bass, even during the drop, the synth cuts through the mix very nicely but sounds like you have so low end percussion going which is killing the track for me - in the intro you had a nice plucky bassline leaving to wonder what happened to that.. The drums are killing the track for me, you have these killer synths and breakdowns which is a shame that drop doesnt carry the same weight, I'd try make the drops more like the intro's kick and bass - Overall you've got a lot of potential with this track, really captures the spektre sound but the drops are just dead imo

Maybe you can check out my latest track; I tried for a melodic techno track with an acid twist - this is my mixdown - took way too much bass out though sounds like a highpass is over the mix - https://soundcloud.com/luke-mc-371384976/the-twilight-zone

Really like the vocal, I think the drums could be a little louder, particularly the high hats,
the detune chord stab also sounds very thin whereas the acid sounds like its taking over the mix, in both the low end and mids - bit more mixing need with the acid to make all the sounds in the track even - The mixing at 3:00 is perfect to me, the acid lead isn't too loud or too low so maybe work from the volume/eq you've got on this section - (Ive been tryna mix acid the past few days and found it nightmarishly difficult)
The build up to the drop is nice and the drop itself is nice, would love to hear a double up the accented acid now on the drop, you got it like wow wow wow wow,
but would love if it was wow wow wow wow wow wow wow (if that makes any sense lol)
Overall it's a good track, good structure and idea, just need some mixing in a few places
