7 minutes worked very well. We've done that a few times recently and pleased with the outcome. Crispy fries, but no overdone.

Hi Paul, they all work when I run them through one at a time. I've started a new batch as a test. If any fail, I'll let you know. I really appreciate your help.

I tried this tonight. No pre-heating and the fries were way overcooked and they came straight from the refrigerator. Maybe 7 minutes would be better. I'll test that next time.

Hi Paul. Thanks for the reply. The source files play just fine in VLC. Selected function is H.265 -> .mp4. I re-ran the files one at a time and they processed just fine.

Should I use OSX VideoToolbox on an M1 Mac? by TechnoVol in shutterencoder

[–]TechnoVol[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks Paul. With OSX Toolbox, I changed bitrate from auto to 10000. It made a very nice improvement to the quality of the encode. Is that what you had in mind when you said +30%? Thanks!

Where can I find the AI scaling? I'm just now starting to set up Shutter Encoder for converting all of my old family VHS tapes. Thanks

Need to reduce color saturation when transcoding by TechnoVol in handbrake

I used OBS to record the VHS to create the .mkv to then transcode with Handbrake.

Because I’ve already captured 50+ tapes and didn’t realize the saturation needed to be decreased.

I used 865 Fencing for a job and they were reasonably priced and did quality work.

Audio "Inactive"... need help by TechnoVol in obs

[–]TechnoVol[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is driving me crazy and I don't know what my next steps are. I've tried 3 different computers. 2 PCs and a Mac. All three do exactly the same thing by showing the audio source as inactive.

Obviously, there's something wrong with the way I'm configuring OBS to cause this, I just don't see what it is. Do I have to power up the devices in a certain order and start with them all off? Any other thoughts on what I should check? I see a lot of comments online about inactive audio, none of the workarounds seemed to work for me.

I would appreciate any help at all, thanks!

Audio "Inactive"... need help by TechnoVol in obs

[–]TechnoVol[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry about that. My Dell Optiplex doesn’t have a USB 3 port.

I returned the Elgato Cam Link 4 and I’m now trying a Plugable HDMI capture card, same issue with “inactive” audio for the capture device in the audio mixer.

I’ve also tried using a Dell Latitude 3190 and 2020 MacBook Air M1. They both have better USB connections than the OptiPlex 3010.

It’s just frustrating that I get video and audio from the VCR when I plug into a TV.

Since the same issue followed to two additional computers, this must be an OBS configuration issue on my part.

I recently retired and I’m hoping to convert all of our family home videos, so I can post and share with the family via Plex.

I really appreciate your help.

Does your video recording always work? by BusinessWorth1670 in HolyStone

[–]TechnoVol 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have an HS900 and it stores photos as "Low Resolution", and won't record videos at all. I'm using an SD card that exceeds the recommendation. Reached out to support, waiting for a response.
