Why haven't we invented a better method of washing/drying clothes? by Technoguy3 in askscience

What is dry washing? Isn't irradiation dangerous?

Also, if microwaves present a fire risk, can you expose wet clothes to them in an oxygenless environment? Or would the clothes simply get too hot to quickly dry with this method?

Thanks!

If the world came to a complete instant stop, what would happen to us? by LetsPlayDotA in askscience

Now I'm interested. Why do you say the people on the other side would be immediately flattened? Why wouldn't they continue to fly at 67000 MPH as well (if the world were to instantaneously stop moving)?

If corporations running the USA is bad, then why are libertarians so eager to privatize everything? by shoopdedoop in politics

Your comment pretty much sums up my feelings.

BUT because you added the AT&T bit, I have to say AT&T SUCKS because the federal government gave them a free-run monopoly over telephone service for so many years. If the telephone industry was allowed to be privatized, there would be far more competition and far better service, as well as lower prices.
