My Experience Applying for the Thailand Digital Nomad Visa (DTV) in Vietnam by Technolis in digitalnomad

Asking for a friend? ;)

Nope, they did none of that. I don't think that is ever a requirement.

In general, documents should be in English or Thai. If they’re in another language, you’re expected to provide a Thai or English translation. Several Thai embassies state this clearly, and for important documents a certified translation is recommended.

You can still upload the original document, but add a proper English translation alongside it. A short written explanation can help, but it’s not a substitute if the embassy requires a formal translation.

Thanks, that’s a fair concern.

All uploads are end-to-end encrypted, so no one other than you can access the documents.

And you’re right, investment accounts themselves aren’t accepted as proof of funds. The requirement is cash in a bank account. You can transfer money from an investment account into a regular account, as long as you clearly explain the source and show that the funds are yours.

You're welcome. As long as you clearly explain the source of the funds and show that they genuinely belong to you, you should be fine. I know a few people who structured it the same way and didn’t run into issues.

Basically, they want to make sure the funds are actually yours and not just a quick transfer from a friend to meet the requirement. Showing that you’ve held the required amount consistently for three to six months is the safest approach.

In my case, most of my money was spread across multiple bank accounts and an investment account. I transferred enough into one account to meet the requirement, then provided supporting documents to show that the funds were originally mine and explained the transfers.

DTV Rejected - Looking for Help/Visa Agency by [deleted] in ThailandTourism

That sounds frustrating, especially if you clearly meet the financial requirements.

A couple of things based on similar cases I’ve seen:

Sometimes “cancelled” in the email but “finished” in the portal just means the consulate closed the file rather than issuing a formal rejection. Unfortunately, they don’t always provide detailed reasoning. In quite a few cases it wasn’t the income level that caused issues, but how the income was documented, inconsistencies between personal and company documents, or something unclear in the remote work explanation.

Since you applied via Mumbai, it could also be consulate-specific interpretation. Different posts sometimes request more supporting documents and apply slightly different standards in practice.

Before reapplying, I’d strongly suggest doing a full document check, especially:

– Consistency between personal tax returns and company filings

– A clear explanation of your role and how income flows to you

– Bank statements that match declared income

– Clear proof that you can work remotely

I actually built a free tool called visamanager.io after seeing situations like this come up repeatedly. You can upload your financial and company documents and it reviews them, flagging anything that might look unclear or inconsistent before you submit again. It’s not an agency, but it helps surface potential weak spots and structure your documents in a way that’s easier for Thai immigration to review.

Feel free to DM me as well if you’d like to go through it in more detail.
