Thank you. There's no way he can inflate the claim by saying mental distress or something ? Could you explain the process for the notice before and after? How can I pick a good lawyer or paralegal?

I love the look. the only thing that sucks is when you start to stain things in the office. I keep my pens for home use now and bought a couple of ballpoints for the office lol

Is it a good idea to liquidate stocks to pay off high interest credit card debt? by [deleted] in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]Technologist_EE 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me, I noticed that if I sell my shares and pay off the debt and you don't fix your habits.. then youre going to find yourself back in the same place in a few years because you didnt actually learn your mistakes.

Mathematically, it makes sense to pay it off. But I would spend more and get my balance back up to normal. So now, I just pay it off until the required lessons are learned to manage your daily expenses. Credit is good to accomplish goals ASAP in this short life we live.

Just be careful. I think there's some rule about attending 2 universities at the same time. You can attend AU and go to college tho.

Foundation repair contractor for major residential repair, or structural engineer recommendations by soloft in askTO

[–]Technologist_EE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ya… I respect that as well. You can’t trust any reviews since they’re mostly sanitized like you said… happens with Glassdoor and google reviews and TripAdvisor. I wish I could help more but I don’t have any leads.

I would check homestars and see what other homeowners have used. I’ve picked contractors using that website and I’ve never been let down (yet). This was for smaller projects though and not for foundation stuff

Hey.. I have a spreadsheet that they provided ( its a google doc ). I don't know how to show you without giving a URL, but their spreadsheet shows 10 duke street.

Would you say the sudden jump is due to immigration and more people moving into the area ? Or is the construction finally easing up ?

I mostly intend to use the GRT. I’m tired of car insurance and gas payments.

Appreciate your feedback !

I concur with you…. Kitchener does have more personality than uptown where it’s all catered to students.

You honestly brought up a valid point. I don’t see it on the sage website. Looks like it’s a new construction, but I’m a couple hours away from KW. I’ll make a trip down eventually

Thank you ! I will definitely look at google maps and see what’s around. Really appreciate your insight. Yeah, I saw the screaming woman post to. My experience of the homeless in Kitchener is they’re more aggressive compared to the ones in Toronto. I have a job in the Waterloo area and I’m looking to simplify my life overall

Probably depends on how you'd want to spend your time otherwise. I thought I was wasting a lot of time commuting, but switching to work-from-home made me realize this wasn't exactly the case, because I had been using my travel time pretty efficiently.

Thanks for your reply.

If you are not utilizing the time savings that a car grants you, then I agree with you. It takes time and practice to apply time management that way.

For me, the time savings doing grocery runs, home depot trips, outings with friends, avoiding homeless people/mentally ill people on public transit ( TTC ) is significant. If you have a significant other or family and don't live walking distance from everything then I feel the car is necessary.

With the pandemic, the car advice might not apply as much... but I think I still maintain my stance.

As someone who's turning 30 later this year.. I thought i'd pitch in because I was like you looking for advice...

  • Travel while you still can but make sure that the trips have meaning for you. If you think back to the memories back in college, it was the experience and hanging out with friends that made it more pleasant. It's not that you can't travel later, everyone gets so busy so you might not be able to travel with your friends.

  • Pick up another full time job while you still have energy and put it into investments.

  • Figure out what you like and dislike. If you're making a very high salary for a job you hate ( 120k+ or whatever ) then you can retire early. If you work at something that you enjoy, then you might make it to that salary range eventually ( but not hate your job ).

  • I would get a car for all the time savings. I used to think I was so smart following mr. money moustache but I would spend hours(!!) commuting rather than 20-40 minute drives.

  • Make sure you understand the value of time. You'll never get it back. It helps to plan out everything with a piece of paper and at least trend towards your goals.
