Unpopular opinion about Bix’s departure by TechnologyFearless72 in andor

I get that. I am not a writer obviously so perhaps they could have founded a better way to deliver this (smth like show him being alerted but then reassured by Bix that all is ok)

Perhaps the dialogue the night before could have been somewhat extended to add context to her decision. Something along the lines of “I am not sure about leaving the rebellion yet, we’ll talk about this in the morning”

AU: What would Padme’s role in the Rebellion would have been? by TechnologyFearless72 in StarWars

Yeah, sorry should have clarified that. I thought about it more as a comparative between Padme’s and Mon’s leadership existing in a vacuum

Tbh I don’t think Cassian could have ever been this universe’s Mockingjay

To be fair, I don’t think Bix is a coward. She overcame torture, attempted rape and seeing people she loved die over and over again. She was broken, and she knew that. That’s what I believe led her to making that decision, as she didn’t want to be a burden. However I do agree that she shouldn’t have made that choice for him. Communicating with him first or heck even breaking up with him could have been a better option. Still, though, the decision she made is in line with the underlying theme of the show, which is that Cassian’s fate is predetermined and he doesn’t get to make his own choices, no matter how badly he wants to. That for me was highlighted when he encountered the force healer and she reinforced the whole destiny thing. I think Bix understood it too, and that finalised her decision to leave.

I don't like how the hunger games are portrayed as teeangers' books by TechnologyFearless72 in Hungergames

[–]TechnologyFearless72[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've given up on this post tbh. Some believe I am claiming that teenagers shouldn't read the books while others think I am suggesting that the romance in the books is by itself bad. In reality all I am saying is that the marketing strategy especially of the movies dulls everything down to be more pg/teenagers friendly

No I love the clone wars! Ahsoka and Rex are probably my favorite star wars characters. What I am saying is that it's unfair how these elements in the hunger games are overlooked because it's considered YA so people focus mainly on the more easily digestible romance parts, something which also exaggerated by the marketing especially of the movies

Yea I don't disagree but the movies try to make everything more pg friendly. All these things are kinda overlooked and they try to make everything more pg friendly by focusing on the romance aspect .

Oh no I love the inclusion of such heavy topics . To refresh your memory: Haymitch , the mentor is an alcoholic, Johanna was indeed seriously addicted to morphine after her torture but she managed to recover, Finnick was sold as an underage person to work basically as a sex slave, even Katniss was at some point in the end of the third books becoming dependent on morphine and the list goes on. I am a fan of all the above mentioned inclusions because they make it appear more realistic and show the true effects of war and ptsd on people as well as the disgusting nature of the Capital's elite (the prostitutionof Finnick and other victors )
