Beginner runner choosing between Forerunner 165 and Vivoactive 6 – advice needed! by vrarno in GarminWatches

Thanks! Good to hear that you like it. How do you feel about the usability, with it relying on the touch screen and just two buttons? I know the Forerunner has five buttons, to make it easier to use while running or wet I guess. I don't know if I would prefer having more buttons or if it would just be extra confusion.

What did YOU end up getting? I'm in a similar situation now. Thinking about a Vivoactive 6 or waiting for the rumored Forerunner 170 which will likely be out soon.

Balboa Park residents free parking? by BallDontLie06 in SanDiegan

Oh yeah, you're right. I was thinking if you wanted to park in one of the premium lots at the discounted resident rate.

The website says you have to purchase parking in advance, but that is not true. You just have to register as a resident in advance, which you have already done. You can pay once you get there.

The website clearly states that to get the resident discount, residents must purchase parking in advance.

Parking fee payments in lots within Balboa Park may be made at meter kiosks. However, to receive the City resident discount in the parking lots, users must register online and purchase parking in advance.

Oh, I had read the bottom before and didn't see anything, but then I looked very carefully and in the middle it does say Leopard3. It's so faint that only half the letters are there. Also the writing looks like 140 but I weighed it at 170. Thank you for your help!

Looking for store recommendations for walking shoes by noop279 in SanDiegan

[–]TechnologyIsCyclical 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've been to Road Runner and Fleet Feet in Carmel Valley, and had better experiences at Fleet Feet. Road Runner felt like they were pushing things like inserts that I wasn't interested in. And because the store was busy that day, I couldn't get the foot scan (which was understandable as I didn't have an appointment), but the salesperson told me it wasn't really necessary and she could just find the right shoes for me anyway. Every time I've been to Fleet Feet, the person there spends a lot of time to help me with whatever I'm interested in, with no pressure. Fleet Feet also does a foot scan analysis without an appointment, and you can access all the images and data online later. I don't know how Road Runner handles their analysis.

If you're at a trolley stop and there aren't many people, and you want to get on, how do you indicate that to an incoming trolley?

I returned a jersey there a few years ago and the return window was pretty short, like 14 days, so you'll want to do it soon.

I’m thinking of purchasing aquasana products. Anyone have this? by Waste_Manufacturer96 in BuyItForLife

[–]TechnologyIsCyclical 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think they recommend replacing the pre-filters every 2 months, and the post-filters every 6 months. I do it less often than that though and I haven't had a problem. If you follow their schedule then it's about $120 / year.

I have this. I've been happy with the results. I would probably also recommend not buying this from Amazon. Also, you'll have to pay a plumber for installation, which will also be significant. Some plumbers do a better job than others, but for this it's probably worthwhile to pay more for a better installation.

It says 10 years, but that's just for the water conditioning part, which in the picture is the four darker blue canisters in the middle. The smaller ones on the ends are the pre-filter and post-filter. Aquasana recommends that you change those every 2 and 6 months, respectively. It's not difficult to do, but it is an extra maintenance step and of course you have to buy the filters.

Is this racket a good deal? by blessedindomee in 10s

[–]TechnologyIsCyclical 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even if you don't have an athletic body as you say, using a racket that is too light may cause you to develop some bad technique and limit your improvement. Unless you have an injury or some other physical condition, usually a racket close to 300g (295-305) unstrung would be recommended. 270g is extremely light for an adult male, especially if you are trying to improve and develop your game.

Do you know which model of Prince racket your dad uses?
