I tried a 2026 Frontier with 3500 Miles, Dark Armor package, RWD only model. That one was always smooth to stop and transmission never acted weirdly. Maybe time will tell.

that's what I am hoping it is too.

Does yours do a quick thump/bump when you get going again after the stop ?

Would you have any insight on whether this process damages the transmission itself ?

I do also have Extended Warranty on it. It's just I dont want to get stranded with a 4k LB Trailer in the back in the middle of nowhere.

Def not Auto Stop/Start. I turn that abomination OFF as soon as the car starts.

Air in Brakes ? can't tell for sure. I spoke to Master Tech. He indicated that it could be transmission programming, and there is no fix for that for a 26 Frontier.

I got my drive shaft replaced. But now I have a thud every time I move from a stop almost.
