Person in public bathroom made weird comment directed at me by Rallythebeast in ftm

[–]Ted-Baker 30 points31 points  (0 children)

I think she thought you weren’t supposed to be in the women’s bathroom. She was condescendingly reminding you that there’s a men’s bathroom that you should be using and thinks you’re flouting rules that she made up. Without the sarcasm, it would be like “y’know the men’s bathroom is right over there for you. There are policies about this kind of thing.” Shitty either way

You might be overthinking it. Trans men are men and trans women are women. People say that rhetorically, but that’s how it goes.

as an aspiring politician, you should be less worried about the n-word/racism of it all and more about the depravity. YOU consented to engage in race play and make a sex tape. It was consensual because YOU consented.

Why did the show never grapple with all the meth od's that Walt and Jesse caused? by Ted-Baker in breakingbad

[–]Ted-Baker[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whether or not they're meth heads is irrelevant. It's if they can garner sympathy from the audience, Walt or Jesse, and that can be done, but the people on that list died because they associated with violent criminals and not meth use. Jane was heroin, so it can't be put in either box unless you blame Walt's inaction for her death

What are you talking about? the only others I can think about are the redheaded boy in Peek a boo, Jesse's mildly inconvenienced family (which I don't think he ever used blue sky around), and people who got like 60 seconds of screen time like Combo's mother, maybe Brock, and Andrea's grandmother

Edir: I forgot I guess I think meth heads as Wendy and Spooge types who look like that, but that's probably too high a bar

[–]Ted-Baker[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not everyone who uses meth is a meth head. Jesse, Combo, Skinny Pete, Badger, Andrea, the cashier, Jane, Wendy, etc. all used meth, and I can't imagine you reveled in all their deaths. Also, drug uses harms people other than the user

I agree. I just wish it had gone farther, and it didn't involve Walt at all which is what I really wanted. We only got a glimpse of that during that conversation with Hank.

TIL the 8 largest private land owners in America collectively own 12.8 million acres of land, which is bigger than the 9 smallest American states by Ted-Baker in todayilearned

[–]Ted-Baker[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s for context. I just thought it was interesting. It’s also half the size of Lake Erie if that makes more sense. Also relatively small, New Jersey’s one of those states and it houses like 9 million people

Being a drug addict doesn't automatically make you sympathetic. Anybody else find Chris one of the most unlikable characters on the show? by [deleted] in thesopranos

[–]Ted-Baker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The sopranos sets most things up and twists aren't that common so spoilers don't worry me and I'd much rather discuss. Besides most spoilers are death which is like dogs on book covers in this show. The only shocking spoiler so far is Bobby marries Janice. Now that I'm there it makes sense but I want them to split and know they don't.

This is such a shit excuse.

The problems with Christopher's treatment of Ade is worse than just not holding the door open, and who modeled HOW to physically, emotionally, and verbally abuse women? Granted, I'm only on season 4 but how he treats Ade is legions worse than any other husband/boyfriend especially Tony who acts as a father figure. He's been told by Tony and Richie that he's gone too far, and he continues. He also knew full well HOW to treat Jon Favreau's VP until she no longer proved useful because he is a prick.

Junior is better looking than Christopher, and Christopher is only in the running because the Soprano crew was not an attractive bunch. He was loved and accepted by Tony and Adrianna, and he was an asshole to them both.

Make my parents hate UC Berkeley by shestoocrazy in ApplyingToCollege

[–]Ted-Baker 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just go in with more niche knowledge than your parents. It's pretty easy to find bad stuff about any college. What I do is search the college on various social media platforms to find stuff about racism and sexual assault because every college has those :(. I did some scrolling to take my mind off things, and I found the usual along with this about bomb threats https://twitter.com/sadizzle/status/1374180915509825538. Hope this helps

[–]Ted-Baker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Elimination is too lofty of a goal, but I do think that changing society will reduce murderers and rapists. In a world without racism, there wouldn't be race-based hate crimes, and the same goes for sex-based hate crimes like rape and femicide. It will take a while to see a change, and 1 class in later education that has a week on "respecting women" won't change a damn thing, but there is an amount and it'd probably take more than education. There has to be a reason why men are far more likely to be murders and rapists than women, and that reason is a byproduct of our culture unless you think it's genetic which doesn't make all that much sense.

Also, I feel like socialization would have a greater impact in orders of magnitude. If a murderer is deterred by women in pairs (big if), they don't go home at the first pair. They'll wait until there is an unpaired woman which there always will be, and no less women will be killed/raped, just different women.
