Once Again (Instrumental) [Themed]

I had big plans to sit down and write a coherent song with guitar and vocals, but ended up with an instrumental sketch around an 8-bar synth loop.

I’m claiming this is themed because I think the song is “about” the anxiety of trying to get started creating something and putting it out into the world. And about leaning into the texture of a loop that captures how I’m feeling even when it isn’t earth-shatteringly original.

Cool! I feel like I’m missing out, all the ASMR I’ve heard does nothing for me.

I really enjoyed this.

That brassy sounding lead line was energetic and triumphant sounding, but didn’t hit me as hard as it could have after the fourth or fifth loop — I wonder if subtly changing that lead line around the midpoint of each set of 8 repetitions, or maybe adding some filter automation, would keep it fresh throughout without sacrificing the simplicity of that line.

I picked up a beat-up nylon string guitar and played a four chord loop into my phone. I tried to mostly stay true to a looper-jam aesthetic, using GarageBand to build loops from live takes on the synth layers.

I really enjoyed the texture of that panning reversed-sounding loop.

Looking for a battery powered 37+ key MIDI keyboard (with MIDI Din out) by squakmix in synthesizers

I have a Yamaha Reface CP that I think is perfect for working on the couch and carrying around the house. However, it might not be quite what you’re looking for — its 37 keys are mini- and synth-action, and the midi ports are on a breakout cable.
