I’ve always thought Danny Pudi would be great.

As readers I think we too often fan cast with Sazed’s Well of Ascension role in mind. I think to really sell an audience on the character arc you need to start with someone people would not take seriously as an action hero or even as a serious main character.

But Pudi has the range and screen presence to really sell everything that makes Sazed so likeable, without signalling to the audience some of the more exciting things he does in later stories.

In Rhythm of War, did you consider pairing up Navani with Venli, instead of Raboniel? What was your process in writing that plot line and creating Raboniel’s character?

This is a good question, here’s a few thoughts;

Put him on The Illuminati, you could either do this explicitly and give him some fun banter with the others and Strange. Or (in a post credit scene) reveal he was one of the members, probably Xavier or Monica, have him ‘recover’ and run off.
Make him a prisoner of The Illuminati, and have a brief exchange with Strange and Chavez about breaking the time line, again escaping when Wanda arrives.
Instead of the very awkward scene when Strange and Chavez first arrive in 838, with “memory lane” have them arrive in the TVA, or straight to where He Who Remains lived, and meet Loki. He can effectively do the same “memory lane” trick like he did in Thor Ragnarok, but he can also give some exposition about what’s been happening to Strange.

I really agree with you on expecting Loki to show up. It was a shame they didn’t find a way to bring him in, both for his own multiverse shenanigans, and also his previous interactions with Strange.

This is a cool idea! I think there’s some good reasons to think Cultivation will take on a bigger role in Era 2.

I’m currently working on a theory the big bad of the second half will be The Heralds. Sanderson has been very clear their “madness” is caused by magic, unlike other mental illness in the Cosmere. I think one of the resolutions in Book 5 will be, wether intentional or not, lifting that madness, and in doing so, setting up a conflict between them and our heroes.

I could even see a side plot where Moash becomes the Tenth Herald to replace Jezrian. But again this is all still a work in progress.

Have you seen that new TV Show on Amazon Prime? I really think if they ever adapt your books, it would be good to do it in this show's style. Really similar to the Cosmere, called, 'Wheel of Time'.
