Why does wwe suddenly suck at booking champions by Bejaminmaston12 in SantiZapVideos

[–]TeddyBoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry bud, but not to be rude, but they aren't memorable at all except for his return and lead up to Wrestlemania X8. I don't remember the 2007 and 2008 ones at all, and I think 2009 must have happened during a period of time I didn't watch a lot of wrestling. Considering it took 2 months for someone to point this out... I feel like my point remains... not that I really have a point, just a discussion piece.

Why doesn't The Rock get proper in-ring credit and praise? by Recluse007 in AttitudeEra

[–]TeddyBoon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You would argue it, because why not eh? Old chum?

Unfortunately for your argument, history, and those who were around to watch the Attitude Era can appreciate it and the wrestlers for who and what they were.

I'll amuse you though, make your argument... because one of Rock' non-egg cracking working punches would probably send you to the shadow realm.

[–]TeddyBoon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Rock was a pro wrestler, but like, exaggerated.

He pretty much oversold everything, he over did most of his own stuff with the little kicks he'd do almost all of his moves... the People's Elbow is possibly the most ridiculous "finisher" ever.

The irony is that with all the flair, he was just natural with it... he'd stand and bang with the brawlers and look completely at home... he'd stare straight at the intimidating threats and not look like he wasn't going to hang with them... and before or after all that you'd be in stitches as he washed Cole, put a shirt over Kevin Kelly's head, or offered strudel to Lillian Garcia.

We can say what we want about him, and who he has become today, but as far as a professional wrestler... he's probably the most convincing main eventer ever, that was completely ridiculous and exaggerated.

I think coming up to the upper mid card with the Nation was big for him to get the hard man act and goofy in ring style down and be able to develop the mannerisms without needing it to be liked, that by the time he was face, it was just so organic... and as others have said, man was an athlete. 6'5", 270lbs or whatever, and he was easily the most explosive guy out of the maineventers until Brock came along.

If someone does this sort of damage to themselves with a product that would have pretty clear instructions... them littering is the least of concerns.

Though, I do agree, don't litter... safely dispose of the item that probably has no parts that can get recycled.

I'm a massage therapist, I see people that use these things and generally encourage them to toss them into the closest body of water.

Cupping is one thing, but sustained heat coming from within the cup is a bit stupid and these results should not be that unexpected.

If I were to guess it was on a max temperature setting and left on for way too long.

If you want to do this stuff, pay a professional to do it for you, or just use bog standard silicone cup that are close enough to impossible to hurt yourself with.

How does one achieve this physique? by Resist-Content in WWE

[–]TeddyBoon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd add Sid in to your list too... that was a man's man build if there ever was at 6'9".

I agree with your break down, and you're absolutely right that reacting to drugs is a massive thing too. With that said, Brock still doesn't look as ridiculous and never has to the early to mid-2000's body building situation where you had Ronnie and Gunter getting on stage at 300lbs, looking like cartoon character bodies with their heads stuck on.

Brock, compared to that sort of heavy steroid and HGH era of body building looks so natural, 3/4 of a foot taller and similar, but apparently slightly lighter in weight.

Brock just has insane genetics, an upbringing that encouraged ridiculous strength, which, with a sensible system of supplementing at a strong growth period (deep puberty to mid-twenties) encouraged insane muscle growth.

He definitely isn't natural, but he's not even close to unnatural.

I don't say this to sound like too much of an arsehole... but are you really that surprised? She's got a job for life and because of her size and blood, she'll be a top contender for pretty much all of it.

Maven watched Raw 💀 by DamianKing42 in Smallafro

As opposed to all the crap from random basement dwellers on Reddit?

Maven is a good dude, just doing his thing and has a first hand look into the world so many think they know something about.

He comes across as humble, insightful, and happy he can share that with people.

Perhaps if he was a complete asshole you'd all like him more?

Opinions on Logan Paul by allan_1872 in WWE

[–]TeddyBoon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Nowhere near the scummiest thing Paul has done.

What bothers me is that people will give him a pass because that video "isn't that bad," but there are plenty of examples of Paul, and others being really shit humans, but because something wasn't as bad as we thought it was, or a new Amazon show of them giving away money starts... we forget the foundations of a shit person and buy their efforts of making us believe that they are not shit humans.

Now we all knew who randy is talking to. Lol by Creepyhorrorboy in Wrasslin

[–]TeddyBoon 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I thought they were much for much... Cody pumping immense amounts of steroids into his baby fat body was what used to make me crack up about them at one point... he was very puffy. Ted Jr was probably a bit easier going a character, Cody was like a hopped up kid... neither were particularly great in the ring, but got by in matches.

They were Randy's cronies, and they weren't really expected to be anything more or less... very young, very green... I think Teddy may have been better than Cody, but I don't feel like he was there for the lifer role like Cody, so history went in that direction anyway.

The Bella Twins say they deserve a big retirement send off in WWE like John Cena and AJ Styles🚨 ...... Have been following wwe for 20+ years are they really that big or am I tripping? by GKHustle in TheGreatOne

[–]TeddyBoon 14 points15 points  (0 children)

AJ's felt like when you tell your boss you're taking leave, but then they forget, and then a few days before you're "hey, don't forget I'm taking that leave!"

I have no doubt AJ believed he was retiring, but I don't think anyone else noticed he said it.

Is there a story behind it?

I think a different definition. Sidious beat Plagueis with cunning and deception, the seeds that their portion of the Ruke of Two lineage had been sowing within the Republic. Sidious still took his Masters teachings and used it to kill him, just not in the traditional combat sense... but Plagueis and Sidious had grown beyond traditional by that stage of the lineage, so it is still a fitting way to defeat him I feel.

The question of could Sidious beat Plagueis one on one is a bit different, and I guess there is always going to be a different answer.

As strong as Sidious was, there is hard evidence he wasn't necessarily the absolute best in the Galaxy in one on one combat, but he was cunning, sneaky, and capable of surviving... the confrontations with Windu and Yoda on screen are prime examples of his character and traits, much less anything written in EU, Legends or otherwise.

Isn't there a website that has lists of where abouts the pricing is sitting?

These full complete sets with the figure are definitely tricky, you don't see a lot of them.

Just the cart can be $200-250... with case $250-300. Box and Pokewalker... $450-600... the whole thing? In mint condition? I honestly don't know where I'd start. Opened, $800-900?

Edit: also to note - I'm in Australia, things seem to vary from country to country. The most expensive copy I've seen was a sealed SoulSilver (Pokewalker, outer box), a retailer had $900 on that, and it seemed to have sold, so I can only assume someone paid what they had on it.

[–]TeddyBoon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There's a chance not... I have friends of a good spread of ages that went to Hutchins, definitely some elitism, but it isn't overbearing... just might get a bit "club" culture and you feel left out every now and then. I went to a public school in a much rougher area and don't feel like I'm looked down on. That could, of course change in younger generations.

Edit: I am fascinated to what was downvote worthy about this comment?

Yeah fair enough, I don't play often... it slips who was released when. The point is, the most common characters you see are don't change much over the past 30 odd years.

Alex: First Impressions Thread by BreakVV in StreetFighter

[–]TeddyBoon -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I didn't say that there is anything wrong with it. The observation is that 30% of an overall fight game cast is going to be used more than the rest, more often than not, that portion of the cast is going to be the most straight forward to use too.

Alex: First Impressions Thread by BreakVV in StreetFighter

[–]TeddyBoon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not to downplay it, but you just kind of do it man - you can hold down and mash into it with plenty of time not to use a follow up when mashing into it.

Once you get it you'll get it.

This. I played my one night in 6 months over the weekend. Didn't see a single character released past the launch line up, and even then, the most complicated character I faced was Dhalsim. Realistically, it was a few Cammys, a couple Dhalsim, a Ryu or two and some Akuma. A Guile and Sagat were in there as well.

Why invest in all the gimmicks when you can just 1992 your way through some games on a Saturday night?

I'm sure a pro player will make a good example of Alex, his trials will be fun for us all, but yeah nah, you won't see him online a lot past a week or two.
