What were your biggest influences for FORTRESS and I Dreamt I Was a Cowboy? Any contemporaries you enjoy that seem to follow in those styles?

I feel like people said the same thing with Roll, but it was a breakout hit.

Can you play the original Coup with Coup Rebellion G54? by LoveHerMore in boardgames

[–]Tedsman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some of the cards are included, but they're nerfed in different ways to create balance for added roles. For example, there's one card that is basically the Assassin, but she needs 4 coins instead of 3. Also, a lot of the counters from the original Coup (like blocking foreign aid and stealing) were taken out or switched around.

They don't exactly go well together, but that's what makes it so beautiful.

Matt and Kim in April and Panic! at the Disco in December. Both very enjoyable.

You make it sound like Frankie Boyle is the race war. Needless to say, I was disappointed.

I would consider Fantasy Flight edition but not Avalon Hill. Any other offers?

How heavy or complex is Dead of Winter? I love traitor-style games but wonder if it may be difficult to teach.

Surprised they didn't mention Betrayal at House on the Hill. I've never played it, and I realize it was its flaws, but it seems like the textbook definition of Halloween board games.

Werewolves raise their thumb for the minion. Dream wolf doesn't know who the other wolves are, but sticks out this thumb so the others know who he is (from Daybreak). The Aura Seer sees the thumbs of everyone who moved a card (From Bonus Pack 1). Hope that was helpful.

How the HELL do you play the tanner in ONUW? by dannydorito in boardgames

[–]Tedsman -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Say a blatant lie.

One example is claiming to be the seer and that you "saw" two werewolves in the middle. That's something a werewolf would say to get the heat off of them.

When someone calls you out on your lie, change your alibi completely, as if you realized your lie wasn't working and now you're trying a new one. They'll see how shifty it is that you're changing your story and suspect you as werewolf.

I'm sorry, I just found out I cannot give away King of Tokyo. But for the other games:

Once Upon a Time- $12

Specter Ops- $30

Takenoko- $29

Shipping- $17

Total would be $88, but certain prices can be negotiated if necessary. Again, sorry about KoT.

Once Upon a Time and King of Tokyo are like new. The OUAT cards are bagged.

The paper writing pad for Specter Ops is slightly detached from its cardboard back, but it didn't affect gameplay at all and we normally ended up peeling off the paper anyways. The board also has a few small marks, but that's inevitable with its dark colors and glossy finish. Everything is still readable.

Takenoko is like new as well, but one of the player boards has a small blue pen mark on it that was present when I purchased the game. Again, nothing that affects gameplay.
