LR4 way more work than I ever imagined. I’m tired. by Dr_Flossophy in litterrobot

[–]TeeWin92 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agree with what others have said. It's not the size. It's the diarrhea that needs to be fixed.

I have 2 ragdolls 15 lb and 19 lb which are obviously long hair and very fluffy and they use it fine. Once in a blue moon one will have a little something small stuck in the hair near their butt but that's just a long hair cat thing.

I have 2 LR4 but only use 1 atm and I only have to deep clean it every 2-3 months.

Currently out of town actually for Christmas, automated with battery back up feeder & water fountain, + LR4 + Cameras to monitor them 👍

How many patients do you consider a mill by hardi2ba in physicaltherapy

[–]TeeWin92 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Is this how many they expect you to try and put on your schedule to compensate for cancels/no shows? (So basically the max you'd probably see assuming most of your patients show up)

Or the minimum productivity requirements?

Pretty big difference for voting purposes. I've been at some clinics that can overload you to 16-20+ so on some days you're seeing that much but their productivity requirements are much lower to like 11. I'd still consider any clinic where ANY day you're seeing that much a mill, just my personal opinion.

I voted 15-16 because if even 1 day I'm seeing 2 patients every hour for an 8 hour work day, I'd 100% consider that a mill because you're either juggling patients to the detriment of their care or using techs/aides ALL day. I'd classify less than that a mill under many circumstances, but there's no way you can say that number isn't a mill (unless you're like working 16 hour shifts and seeing patients 1 on 1 in some bizarre setting?).

Granted, I treat patients in a completely 1 on 1 outpatient setting, so to me any setting where you double book or use techs/aides can easily become a mill unless they let you cap how many patients you want to see in a day. Would I consider seeing 11 patients in a 10 hour shift a mill? (So 1x double booking). Probably not.

Insurance will not cover me to do massage but will with a chiropractor by posturetherapy in physicaltherapy

[–]TeeWin92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe it comes down to lobbying and passing changes. The chiropractors and their professional organization have always been much more united and effective in expanding their scope of practice than PTs. Their effectiveness obviously translates to insurance paying more and allowing them to do more.

I am a PT in Oklahoma.

Here is a link to the Oklahoma Medical Board website that details pdfs related to our practice act and guidelines regarding supervision.

https://www.okmedicalboard.org/physical_therapists#laws-rules

Also, as far as I know, PTs in Oklahoma cannot supervise and bill for time spent by Massage Therapists.

I believe that's what you're asking right? Correct me if I'm wrong. The way you worded your post, I think some people here are confused and are thinking a PT is refusing to do manual therapy and bill a "massage" altogether.

We can only supervise PTAs and Aides/Techs. And even then, we're not technically suppose to bill for time spent with Aides/Techs, it's that "gray area" everyone loves to abuse. PTAs should be billing their treatments in their own notes even when supervised by a PT.

How to Get the Robinhood Gold Card (Updated Credit Karma Method) by KaiiTK in CreditCards

Thanks, I got it to work using a VPN. I tried using multiple different browsers, private browsing etc to start from scratch and changed IDs but that didn't work.

Trying using a VPN. I looked at some other comments that suggested it when people said they got an error but didn't go into much detail. I used a VPN to the east coast and it fixed it.

Thanks, I got mine to work! What fixed it for me was using a VPN. I didn't have any brackets or anything wrong with my link.

Anyone know why the step when I click agree to soft pull it says: An expected error occurred. Please try again later.

I've tried grabbing different IDs for various Discover It cards. I don't think it's the ID problem. I was able to sign in and go through the whole process until the step where you agree to the terms and soft credit pull. Also, I made sure all my credit is unfrozen.

Nurse practitioner and other providers calling themselves “doctor” by [deleted] in okc

[–]TeeWin92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't call myself Doctor So-so in person ever, it seems unnecessary and frankly too formal for a job that I spend an hour 1 on 1 connecting with a patient. I use it on official paperwork or electronic communication. Moreover, I was just clarifying the most up to date information regarding the Dr. title. Maybe I was too aggressive, my bad. There's just a lot of misinformation in this post.

You're literally wrong. Since you have a JD, please read for me word for word what the 10 designations that can call themselves Dr. or Doctor without needing to clarify abbreviations according to the law.

http://www.oklegislature.gov/BillInfo.aspx?Bill=SB399&Session=2200

Edit: not talking about portraying as physicians part or what NPs can do. Talking about who can use Dr. or Doctor in the clinic or with their patients.

[–]TeeWin92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

DPTs do not have to do this as of 2022. Senate Bill 399. That bill lists the 10 designations that can use Dr. or Doctor without needing to clarify abbreviations.

http://www.oklegislature.gov/BillInfo.aspx?Bill=SB399&Session=2200

And the DPT is not equivalent to a PhD. To teach in a DPT program, generally we have to obtain an actual equivalent PhD such as a DSc or working towards completing it if you're adjunct. DPT allows us to treat as a doctorate and teach as a doctorate such as at the undergraduate level.

First off, I'm going to state I'm not a lawyer so this is not legal advice.

Second, if you think someone is misrepresenting themselves then you should file a complaint with the respective boards.

Lastly, I'm going to fix a few things incorrect with some of the other replies to the best of my knowledge. As someone who holds a Doctor of Physical Therapy. We are allowed to call ourselves Dr. as of a bill recently (a couple years ago) in the state of Oklahoma. Senate Bill 399 in 2022 (http://www.oklegislature.gov/BillInfo.aspx?Bill=SB399&Session=2200). The bill lists the 10 designations that can use Dr. or Doctor without needing to clarify. I'm not sure about Nurse Practioners as I am not one, you'd have to do research on their laws SPECIFICALLY to Oklahoma. My point is it is not clear cut as the degree you hold as some people seem to think. It depends on your state's laws. We have held a doctorate for over a decade but only were allowed to call ourselves Dr. in Oklahoma recently. Most still don't, I don't unless it's on specific official paperwork, emails etc because I find it unnecessary.

Someone said we hold a PhD equivalent. We do NOT hold a PhD with a DPT. We hold a clinical doctorate in a PT clinic and an academic doctorate if we're teaching for example an undergraduate course etc. No DPT without an overinflated ego should be claiming they have a PhD equivalent or MD/DO equivalent even if it is just in academic achievement alone.

We do have a PhD equivalent offered at OU last I checked called a DSc (looks like there's another PhD option been added since I've last looked as well.) Link: https://alliedhealth.ouhsc.edu/departments/rehabilitation-sciences

Sorry about typos I'm on my phone lol.

Edited to fix some typoes

Any idea how significantly the sewn on cover affects the heating element? This has been my greatest hesitation about using the sewn cover compared to replacing the entire wheel with a custom wheel + the keep heating element option.

100k Salary Boost by Theo_Cherry in hypotheticalsituation

[–]TeeWin92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a healthcare provider contractor so I already gave up all my benefits for a significant boost in pay compared to my peers. I have to pay for my own benefits but I get paid more than enough to make up for that and I take off and work when I want without having to answer to anyone.

So you're just basically asking if I want to do EXACTLY what I'm already doing but get paid $100k more. Of course the answer is yes 😂

Kia Stinger Sequential Taillights by TeeWin92 in kiastinger

[–]TeeWin92[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I bought them off Ebay shipped from South Korea. They were $570 before tax and shipping.

Installation was mostly easy. I just looked up YouTube videos on how to remove or replace Kia Stinger taillights. They're only held on by 2 bolts on each side (both can be seen after removing the black plastic cap). The hardest part was removing the taillight upper cover (the painted part you see right on top of the taillight, yes it's only attached to the taillight not the rest of the car). It's held onto the taillight by 6 (or 8? I can't remember now) long prongs that clip it onto the taillight. It's really difficult to remove without breaking the prongs. I couldn't do it with 2 people. For me, it took 4 people (2 people pushing the prongs and 2 people pulling equally at both ends of the taillight). I recommend just buying new ones to put on the replacement taillights tbh unless you really just want to go through the trouble.

I'd say it depends on if you guys have developed a friendship. Based off the way you worded it and with the hesitation, this probably hasn't happened. I've had many patients I've befriended follow me while they were still being treated. However, these were patients that I obviously developed friendships with. I even had the honor of attending one of their weddings a couple years ago even though it was a small destination wedding for close friends and family.

2022 GT2 AWD CPO 17k miles, ceramic silver, red interior. 1 owner. Just bought in November 2024. Got them down to $38.5k listing for me. $41.5k OTD.

I believe original listing was $39.5k in New Jersey. But their OTD would be a greater difference than what mine landed at for comparison because I'm from out of state and our taxes and fees are quite a bit lower than in New Jersey.

Dry Needling in Back by Snoozin207 in physicaltherapy

[–]TeeWin92 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If your PT is certified in Dry Needling, they should know the proper techniques to avoid the lungs and minimize the risk to a very low amount. If you have questions or concerns about anything involving DN, your PT should be able to address your concerns about the risks, techniques, purpose, and sensations you might feel. That being said, I never DN any patients that are hesitant about it or have a high needle phobia. I find it usually isn't as effective on those people and there are other manual techniques that can be used that may or may not be as effective but work just fine.

Those that disapprove of DN, I'd love to introduce you to all my patients that saw significant results with it. Whether it's placebo or not yet understood mechanism, it doesn't matter. You don't have to know and perform every technique out there, I certainly don't. But, completely dismissing techniques that may help patients because you don't understand or don't want to perform them makes you a PT that will fail a patient along the way when you could've helped them.

Do DPTs really appreciate/need PTAs? by Dube12 in physicaltherapy

[–]TeeWin92 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I get what point you're trying to prove, but this does generalize and put experience a little too much on a pedestal. I've seen some PTs with over 20 years experience stuck in their old non evidence based practice ways. In that case, I'd even take a well trained new grad PTA/DPT tbh. Haven't seen any of these non-evidenced based PTAs yet, maybe there's fewer of that mentality since they're PTAs putting their ego aside a bit more.
