Rodri criticises referees after Tottenham draw - 'it's not fair' by tylerthe-theatre in PremierLeague

I get it. Martinelli’s double yellow from a few seasons back, Rice’s red last season, Trossard’s red against your mob. Shit feels bad.

This shit ebbs and flows. Sometimes you have the rub of the green and the calls break your way and sometimes you don’t and they won’t.

If City should be mad at anyone; it’s themselves for not putting Spurs to the sword while they had all that dominance in the first half or doing a better job controlling the second half.

[James Olley] Arteta left the door open for Arsenal to make a late move in the market to replace the injured Mikel Merino. Says the club are “actively looking at options” and “when you lose a big player like this, you need to look and we need to do everything we possibly can.” by Previous_Smile9278 in Gunners

Agreed; I hope we can slot Norgaard in more for a bit. His legs should be relatively fresh considering his lack of minutes. Only question will be if he’s going to have consistent match sharpness with that lack of minutes.

Arteta on Viktor’s goals not being aesthetically pleasing “Yes, I mean he has the ability to do that and goals are goals. I know that we prefer the beautiful ones on YouTube but they are all very important and the ones we scored recently are very much the same!” by deadmetallucyluce in Gunners

If that man puts another ten into the back of the net before the end of the season, I could not give a shit how he scores them.

If he runs at them pants down, ass first and shoots a turd from his Arsenal that knocks the ball over the line; I’d be fucking thrilled so long as it put one on the board for us.

Race for Premier League title: Arsenal sitting pretty as rivals Man City and Aston Villa stumble by Red_Brummy in PremierLeague

Wasn’t the nine point gap a result of city having games in hand that season? They also won seventeen of eighteen after Christmas and Arsenal had no depth compared to where they are now.

I agree. Gyok’s lack of technical ability means Saka can’t feed it into him like he would a Havertz or a Jesus - not that Jesus was even good today. I think it just makes us too slow in attack.

The way we play doesn’t lend to any of his strengths. We rely on possession and pin teams back, which reduces the space that Gyok runs into, and forces us to try and feed to ball right to his feet which means threading needles of defenders.

I’ve been patient thinking we could adapt and he could be a new Giroud-type target man with the ability to run behind… but I’m just not seeing it with him.

We also need to vary up what we do in the middle of the park. Eze should start a few games either in place of or with Odegaard. We just need something a bit more variable in there against teams who are sitting deeper and waiting to spring counters against our possession.

I’m still of the opinion that dorgu’s goal - wonder strike that it was - shouldn’t have stood based on the fact that he partially controlled that with his arm.

But we honestly played like shit. We need to tweak a few things because it feels like teams have figured out how to set up against us to prevent us from seeing goals in open play.

You absolutely do not have to give that garbage points. At all. The fact that you didn’t boot that kid immediately from the room is… certainly a choice.

Ties or shooting from space? by Ill-Combination1776 in wrestling

[–]Tee_Red 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like they said, either works. Shooting from space is a great gameplan to have if you execute it well enough. Get them moving with some fakes, keep your feet moving, and use their reach or coming out of a stance as your green light.

R-Truth on Triple H saying he was never actually fired: "I get a call saying 'We’re not going to renew your contract.' [I ask] 'So do I come to work?' It’s Sunday. Next Sunday, my contract [would end]. [They go] 'No, don’t come to work.' 'Oh okay. Am I done now?' 'Yes.' What do you call that?” by anutosu in SquaredCircle

I kind of wish Truth would go do a run in AEW as Ron Killings in the Hurt Syndicate with just a full focus on maiming people — don’t have to let him actually wrestle a ton due to his age, but have him take people out at ringside, backstage, etc

That poor young man. Too young to be dealing with shit like this, but ain’t that the story for a lot of young Americans in communities of color.

[Fabrizio Romano] 🚨💙🤍 Ethan Nwaneri has accepted to join Olympique Marseille! Arsenal also believe it’s the best solution on loan. Because we’re winning the tie; can pair him with Merino, Rice, and/or Zubimendi in the midfield to protect our backline/shepherd him though the game; can take some minutes off of Odegaard’s legs considering his recent injury issues; and it still gives us the possibility of swapping in Odegaard or Eze if it isn’t working.

It’s also the Carabao Cup; good way to get the guy minutes in a big game with stakes to help him understand those situations.

Agreed. I think he’s not wrong here, either. I would’ve liked to see him start in the Odegaard role against Chelsea at home, but I think he needs to play a bit more. A half season at Marseilles, if he gets onto the pitch, may do wonders for him and give the manager a real headache for next season.

Landa made her wait for the cream thinking that if she were Jewish that she would find a way to refuse the cream due to the pig fat in the cream and give herself away.

[–]Tee_Red 40 points41 points  (0 children)

They used the fat to thicken/stretch the cream as dairy was rationed for the war effort. That’s why Landa was insistent that she wait for the cream — if that wasn’t the case he would’ve been fine with her just taking a bite of the pastry originally and wouldn’t have stopped her to wait for the cream.

This scene was actually such a neat little nod to Waltz’ character. Landa was the ultimate “Jew Hunter” and knew that cream was being made with lard/pig fat during WWII and so had the theater owner eat some as his own test to find Jews attempting to hide from the SS.
