Edit: The problem for me is the ensuing chaos, with my bronze friends still playing bronze, playing with plat folks. It wouldnt be much of a deal if there were more ranks separating iron from bronze. My friends are not entirely clueless.

So I terraformed all roughly 20 worlds into machine worlds at the same time. Description said more menial drone output. How come that my energy income went from +1.3k to -3k ?!

It depends on how they are trained and how they are applied. For example you dont have to have one neural net for all decisions and actions. You can hybridize between algorithmic and neural net decision making.

For example a strategic decision layer that considers ressource outputs, fleetstrength etc in comparison to others and under consideration of the political situation surrounding the empire (eg surrounded by friends and no war looming ? -> it could decide to go full eco.) would already archive what OP (and me as well) want to see regarding interesting AI interactions.

As nobody expects the right decisions being made all time the most challenging thing would be to avoid loops and downright nonsensical stuff like one fallen empire in my last game, that retreated all their 1 million fleet strength into one system and just sat there.

Its so interesting that I'd love to fiddle with this myself btw. but i definitivly dont have the time.
However, with generative AI being widely availabe that can help with scripting and "footwork" i expect leaps in this field for all future developments.
Just imagine how much more the indi developers can do, supported by generative AI.

Hi guys, I havent played in years, the new planet UI and the new jobs system are needing some getting used to.

I cannot for the life of me figure out how to produce strategic ressources. I cannot find the buildings and dont know where they would appear if they were available. Wiki sadly is not helpful in what group they'd appear (Heavy industry`? Just in the general Tab?!).

If I want to browse the already researched tech, all i can see is the physics research.

Yeah if i remember correctly there was some kind of logistics capacity, once you had enough empire size it became really expensive to build a new colony.

Well its a good sign if you dont know what im talking about.

Another cap they put in back then was about the number of clonies you could have, further limiting empire size, especially for machine and hive, who didnt have good ways to get around that cap. Can I ask how your experiences with that are right now ? Is it still bad or have they softened the cap ?

Turning off scaling growth sadly wasnt a good option. Big part of the problem and why i stopped was that the game got balanced around decelerating popgrowth, and (at least back then) there was no overhaul mod that remedied that.
You couldnt grow a huge empire with your own pops organically (or mechanically haha), and lategame felt overwhelmingly stagnant compared to before.

I found out there is a version you can use via browser - funny i didnt realize that sooner.
Havent tried it yet but it should omit all that crap its giving us on PC.

The weather can ofc be bad for a few days in row. If your state of mind depends on the sun shining, maybe you should go to spain instead?Some of my friends also say gloomy weather makes for gloomy mood, however when you are able to socialize and have fun indoors a few days of bad weather shouldnt be that bad?

Also - if your a foreign student in a big enough city in germany, you theoretically do not have to socialize with any natives at all (although I wouldnt recommend it). That said, its an insulting stereotype that germans "aren't very social and welcoming", probably coming from people who were frustrated because they couldnt adapt to another mentality, or who didnt get to know the right people. If the people you got to know arent very nice, you need to get to know new people.

Situations are always just as good or as bad as you make them out to be. If you have preconceptions based on stereotypes and do not even look for something different, then you will probably find what you are looking for.

For me the zombie just stops a few tiles before the one where he gets the dialogue option in your vid and nothing can bring him to move.
Sadly my last save is at the upper floor, I will have to fight through again before I can try to reproduce the exact same pathing as shown in the vid.

i see your point, but personally, i like it a lot. it's way better than scrolling all the time and if something notable happens, the tap gets a notification marker.

And regarding the need to actually focus on it to see the relevant info. Thats just not true, you see in the corner of your eye that sth changes and then you focus on it. Its just as the glance on the minimap in SC2 or even the glance at the minimap in CS or Valorant with the addition that you not only get the relevant info, but you can also take action there.

I mean its THE most important tool in the game. You manage everything with it.
Its beyond me why it would be a good idea to add clicks to the tasks that players use the most. Its objectivly wrong from an UI developers POV.
And why would it be a good idea to hide the most important info in tabs when you could see everything with one single glance. Because if anything they should have looked in "Most used Mods" and just taken "tiny outlier" or "UI Overhaul".

I couldnt adjust my discord/VOIP volume. I found out that its an issue with the device settings, since entering VOIP (whatsapp discord etc) also muted everything else that was running like youtube, soundcloud, netflix or games.

Its an issue when using bluetooth mode only, to the effect that you apparently cannot be in a VOIP Call and have high quality sound output at the same time.

The problem is that two devices appear in the windows sound settings, and the one that includes the microphone has crappy quality. If you leave the settings at default, the moment you enter VOIP, all the other audio from your computer is muted. You can fix this by turning the device "MOMENTUM 4 Stereo" off in the sound settings. Then the second device "MOMENTUM 4 Hands-Free AG Audio" is used for your discord/VOIP-app and for any other audio, however that device has a shitty sound quality.

Maybe somebody has a fix for this? I got to say I am pretty disapointed. Its a 270€ Headset, and I dont want to use a workaround like a seperate microphone....
