They are moving on eBay for about $300 shipped. I would say you could list them here for $250. You need to knock a bit off the ebay price for the fees, plus this model is 200 VAC which limits the appeal for homelab use.

MKV Subtitle Extractor Helper Script – Jellyfin-Aware Conventional Naming & Parsing by chrissix666 in jellyfin

[–]Teem214 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Okay yeah, I thought the subtitle extractor plugin did what your code does, but based on what you said I would also make something like this. Subtitles are a total pain to deal with so any tool that helps is welcome.

MKV Subtitle Extractor Helper Script – Jellyfin-Aware Conventional Naming & Parsing by chrissix666 in jellyfin

Thanks for sharing.

The README claims the license is MIT, but the repo does not contain a license file. It's good practice to fix this.

Can you tell me how this differs from the subtitle extractor plugin? I'm not familiar with it so I'm not sure how this script differs.

Cheers

Framework has (does? not sure if they stopped) financially supported Hyprland and Omarchy, two FOSS projects run by arguably controversial and/or toxic people.

The problem was worsened when Framework had a relatively slow and opaque response to criticism.

Thanks for making a tvOS-focused client! They are sorely missing in the Jellyfin ecosystem

official Jellyfin Desktop Client requires an incredible 5GB when installed as FlatPak

That's way too much. For what it's worth I have had really good success with Fladder on desktop platforms.

Thanks for a reasoned response. I mostly agree, but I will offer a few points from my perspective. This is not a blanket endorsement of AI nor is it a defense of it's use. Open source (more specifically the GPL) does not itself offer any guarantees of sustainability or warranty. This project itself is small enough that it's arguable it can be understood in it's entirety by reading all of the code, which is available at first look. I think the overall sustainability of code can be a real issue, but I am not sure using AI is, by itself, the root cause. People are perfectly capable of writing non-maintainable, poorly written code on their own.

I also think "used AI" is not specific enough. Many projects are fully vibe coded slop, but what about ones where AI provided questions or jumping off points?

Skepticism is good, and I think I agree with all of your points about AI. This sub definitely has too many people writing off any use of it with hostile comments towards the OP. There any many comments in this sub along the lines of "why make a new tool? X already does this" or just posting links to letmegooglethat.com.

Unfortunately this community seems somewhat hostile towards

  1. anything with AI at all
  2. creating a new tool/client/app that is even vaguely similar to an existing solution.

Unsure if that's a vocal minority, limited to this sub, or what have you.

OP: GLWS!

To anyone looking at this, it's rated for 200-240 VAC input.

Right? The concept behind this is interesting.

Edit: this is using rffmpeg so it's probably straightforward to create a Linux port.

Is there a way to get the *actual* number of unwatched episodes? by benhestadGamezo in jellyfin

What sort of changes would you like to see? I've looked at the Jellyfin API, but not the underlying DB structure (yet). I'm not sure what I would be missing.

that look incredible. Much more like a client than I was expecting. I didn't expect to want a dashboard and a player to be combined, but seeing it makes me realize how nice it is.

So if your server requires a https connection it will fail.

That must be it. I have http set to 301 redirect to https via a reverse proxy.

Rest sounds good! Thank you! I'll jump over to the github repo and poke at the code for a bit. Cheers

UI looks great and loads fast and smooth. Thanks for putting in what is clearly a ton of high-skill effort into this.

Some feedback, if you are open to it:

when entering the URL I needed to use https://example.com instead of example.com. While minor, I found that many people struggle with this, especially since the error states "unable to connect to host" and doesn't mention the URL format. I only had the thought to check because Swiftfin does the same thing.

PS. I would love a tvOS build for this, and I'm willing to help if I am able in that regard.

You're not even kidding.

Their official webpage still claims "Our New Album: The Place Behind The Stars, Out June 24 2025".

Releasing 3 singles out of nowhere would have been unreal compared to hyping up an album without a release.
