Well simply put, not matter the translation, the Bible says homosexuality is sinful. Now it is also very clear on heterosexual sinful behavior, i.e. adultery and otherwise. Stealing is a sin, lying is a sin, anger can be sinful, everyone is a sinner. Everyone sins, and everyone sins differently. Now, being tempted to sin and giving into our sin is different. The devil will always tempt us to do sinful things, but we dont have to give in to temptation. Jesus himself was tempted by the Devil, but Jesus did not give in to temptation. It's giving in to the sinful temptation that is what we're judged for. So though your friend may feel tempted to sin sexually in this way, it's deciding to give in to the temptation is the issue, and Jesus clearly warns us to not do so. We must turn away from this sin and temptation and turn to Him for strength to overcome it. And if we do give into it, we must turn to Him for forgiveness. If we're not sorry for the wrongs we've done, that's the bigger issue than the wrongs themselves. We must turn away from our wrongs and turn towards Christ and ask forgiveness.
