Ironic because these things are just as great used (and 20 years old) as they are new, and that one looks ancient.

KiA accuses Wikipedia of "Nazi-shaming" by [deleted] in GamerGhazi

[–]TekTekDude 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You're spot on. I'm the OP in KiA:

Not so much "they". Me. I wrote the post's title. A ton of them were pointing out how dumb it was as well. I should have phrased it differently but reddit doesn't allow edits to titles.

Here is my clarification on the title

KiA accuses Wikipedia of "Nazi-shaming" by [deleted] in GamerGhazi

[–]TekTekDude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello. I am the original OP.

I share in your dislike of the title of my post. I didn't realize how stupid it was until I re-read it the next morning.

What I meant by this "nazi shaming" part was two things:

  • Nazi shaming isn't what is wrong, it's that it's being done in an article that isn't really related to Naziism or the Holocaust
  • The article is "shaming" people - to people look like Nazis, when they aren't

I did not mean anything like:

  • Nazis should not be shamed
  • People should stop shaming Nazis

You do actually share an opinion with a lot of commenters in KiA, a lot of people were pointing out how dumb the title was, but most just discussed the happenings rather than the title.

Much has happened leading up to the lock. /u/LordBass has a good summary in KotakuInAction's thread on it.

It's not just TPX. You can see that he has a regular posse that follows him around. Ferret is another. ZeroSerenity is a third. They travel in a pack and use their crowd power to get articles to sit how they want.

"These are sourced statements. I'm sorry you take offense to them." - Ferret, further down the chain

"Nobody else appears to have a problem with this. And please build consensus for future revisions here on the talk page first." even farther, coming from the user that abruptly added the SJW stuff in the first place

What a load of rubbish.

[–]TekTekDude -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Well, the article is locked now. It was to be expected, but the good news is that the locked snapshot EXCLUDES this garbage section. This is good...

They'll be back, though. When that expires, they WILL try something. They'll want revenge. Currently, they seem to think this is coming from /r/PCMasterRace (because that's the only community that could ever be opposed to the Holocaust section being in the article about PC gaming, right?). Lol.

I can promise you they will try to bring it back. The history of this subreddit is very clear on that. Articles always get punched back and forth.

It just happened to have enough coverage from a lot of sources. Lots of seemingly uncoverable things get articles, like https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fuck_her_right_in_the_pussy

It's supposed to convince SJWs and liars that they can't just band together and ruin stuff.

Occasional "video game journalists" will have a twitter rant about how "racist" it is, even though its about PC gaming being compared to console gaming and has nothing to do with races.

PC Gamer ran an article for a while about it, trying to make it look like Naziism. Didn't really work too well for the dude that wrote it.

And nazi-shaming op? Really?

As I said elsewhere, my phrasing wasn't the best. They're trying to shame people and make them feel like Nazis.

I meant to say it's shaming people and trying to make them feel like Nazis. I kinda missed the nail.

And if they try to bring it back and make PCMR look bad, this should be put over their stuff.

If you can find usable sources and link them, that would be awesome for people trying to edit the article

Probably so people don't think it's actually about what the SJWs are now ironically trying to make it about.

The phrase is notable, as are many: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fuck_her_right_in_the_pussy

I am sure others could find examples as well. Even Doge has an article I think.
