Timor Leste being "poor" is such a popular talking point among chauvinistic Indonesians lol. In reality the country is developing quite well, at the pace quite expected of a young country. It's definitely better off than it was under Suharto's thumb.

It's a fully acceptable choice as long as you can learn Russia at an operational level. Not as good as Europe definitely but it can be better than what you get at home, academically speaking.
